Is it certain that Kerry Collins is leaving as well? If he stays, wouldn't they want to start him?

he's a free agent too so it wouldnt surprise me if he leaves. i just dont see Hasselbeck going to a team where he knows his time as a starter is limited, the panthers are going with Cam Newton and it's likely he starts by week 5 at least. it still wouldnt surprise me if Hasselbeck is re-signed to a 2 year deal.

I wouldn't be THAT shocked if Hasselbeck went into a temporary position. He's getting old, he's brittle, and he was never that good to start with. He's always just been "ok". Like same tier as Delhomme, maybe even lower. There's still a few teams with QB needs, but even with those teams he's gotta know he's a 1 year stop gap til the "great QB class of 2012" is available.

but i doubt he wants a job as a mentor to a Cam Newton, i think Volek is the QB they get, he will be the backup to Newton.
