Brian Billick is a hater too

“When you look at some of the actions of Cam Newton at the end of the season — the workout for the media, the comment about being an icon and entertainer — it shows me a lack of understanding on his part what that transition to the NFL is going to be about. And these actions show me that he has surrounded himself with people with questionable judgment.”

Thought I'd post this since everyone who says something nice about Cam gets a thread, this is for the realists.

Cue the huggers

True but I'm not in the back & forth Cam hoop-la, personally I'm gonna wait till the interviews & combine in general before I feel comfortable with my view on the prospects.

Agreed but for all the no name people that get a thread because they love Cam, I figured someone who has been there should get a thread too!

His workout, his choice of words, and his father will all be an issue worth consideration up to and after the draft.

any other draft prospect says what Cam said and they would be labeled a loud mouth diva who the Panthers should stay away from

but since it's Cam, it's just swag!

The fans and reporters (Cam lovers) are now having to give way to the comments of the experts (former coaches and former player personnel directors) who have a little better grasp of, as Real Deal so eloquently puts it, reality.

And I am not a hater- I see CN's potential. I am a realist. I also see the risk, and opt not to gamble with this pick.

    • I was going to joke and have the Chiefs throw in 2 first rounders..... But as soon as the Mahomes/Bryce trade comes through we need to hit accept and have Mahomes on the very first flight out here; no negotiation needed lol.
    • It will be interesting this year to see if spending time with some of the best QBs and play callers in the league changed Wentz at all. I really think Mills is starter material. He wasn’t awful despite being apart of two dumpster fire seasons before Demeco got there. Plus he would have zero issues seeing over the line.
    • I feel like for once every one of those guys held back. And I think there is a 5'9 100% attitude guy that they're almost hesitant to speak out against. This is the fact of the matter, it's sports. When you win, fans cheer. When you lose, fans boo. Especially consistently year after year with no end in sight. Instead of just talking about us being the Bible belt maybe talk about how we've never once in the franchise history had back to back winning seasons. We love the team, we loved and celebrated Cam and Steve, and even guys like Jake that we love not just because of talent but because of his spirit as the face of the team. But they all won.  Fans pay a lot of money on gear, and on these overpriced tickets to go out and see a horrible product. I've slowed down on watching games because I realized I was spending 4 hours of my day getting annoyed watching a consistently bad product. Outside of a few hopeful games at the end of last year Panthers football hasn't even been enjoyable to watch. When I flip the channel to a Ravens/Eagles game it almost feels like I'm watching a different sport.  I wouldn't just focus so much attention on the city, I'd ask based on the results are they justified.
