Another Bryce Thread with a Question.

Okay I usually kill threads not start them. But I was wondering what people think about something.

What do you guys think Bryce would command on the open market next year? Just interested to hear your thoughts.
If he was a UFA.

Mac Jones signed for like 2 years/$8M. Probably something along those lines. Being a former high pick always gets you another chance. Even Jamarcus Russell got numerous workouts after absolutely busting and ballooning up to the point that he looked like he was better suited at OT.

Depends on if the Panthers find that diamond in the rough FQB in the next years draft or the following year. No more than 10 to 12 million a year, and that is speculative on how well he does next year.

If he was a UFA in March. Not with us in 2026, just a guy out there for hire. Not trying to make any contingencies on him being here or what we would do without him or any of that. Just if he was UFA.

This is only tangentially about us and him. Trying to gauge his true value.

the only thing that is really special about Young. Look at the last 5 4th quarter drives he has done where we were behind or tied. He has 9 4 quarter game winning drives he has led and didn't give the ball back to the other team. The only drive he left with time remaining is that one with KC. We have to give the defense the blame for that loss. He would have 11 game winning drives if it wasn't for Leggette dropped passed against Philly and the KC game.

That is the only thing I see that would keep Carolina from letting him walk if he was a UFA and not having that special guy in the fold to take his place.

Okay I guess failed here. Or you don’t read well. Not sure which.

This is not supposed to be a debate or recap of his exploits or whatever. Simply state his value were he a UFA, that is it.

But I have to address that Philly drop by Legette, and the claim of a GWD you made.
There were more downs to work with after that drop. And had he caught it, Philly would have still had a chance to drive for a winning FG. So cancel that ‘should have been’ because it never played out. We don’t know what would have happened in the remaining time if Legette caught the pass.

    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
