You don't get it.

1. They can't close the doors and start all over. They'll have to simply close the doors. done. over.

2. the escrow ruling is what I was talking about. Doty hasn't ruled to put it in escrow yet. He only ruled that NFL violated the agreement. The ruling on the escrow injuction has yet to come down. clearly the NFLPA won't win the injuction that would force them to not lock them out.

3. I didn't say the owner's were in any way stupid. they are very screwd. that doesn't mean they slam dunk win this thing.

4. Yes they are banking on people running out of money, which will probably happen.

Please read what someone writes next time. simply repeating what you said in earlier posts is just annoying :mad2:

YES they can close doors and re open as a new business they have every legal right to do so and can. I guess we will see how it goes but I am willing to bet the owners win this.

You guys really think the owners are this stupid, wow. and YES I do believe the owners will close the doors and start over completely if need be.

And as for as injunctions It has been reported it is very, very rare for two injunctions to come down and the NFLPA got one already in the fact the owners have to put the 4 billion in escrow. Also there is no way the players can get rulings in time to not have the majority run out of money. It very well could be 90% of the players re certify as a union and leave manning and the 'Have's' out of it.

The owners know exactly what they are doing

How on earth are you arguing with that post? I mean really.

I have a question, and it probably have been answered before. If all the owners wanted was another billion dollars on the revenue split, why not take that billion from the tv contract they were going to receive? (Which was worth 4 billion)

It wasn't worth $4 Billion. That's just what it's worth in the event of a lockout. They only get $4 billion because they don't have to share any of it with the players, because they don't have a CBA

The owners are trying to avoid splitting the total $9 billion pie with the players. right now each side gets roughly 4.5 billion. (the owners get 1 billion credit. then they split the final $8 billion 50-50). This is each year of course. what the owners want is to get 2 billion in credit and split the final $7 billion 50-50) plus a lot of other things like more games etc that should add to the $9 billion pie.

As too the question, "why not take it out of the $4 billion" well they don't actually get $4 billion. Basically they get a $4 billion loan in the even there is no football. they eventually pay this back over the course of the contract when there is football. they don't literally pay it back, but the TV companies get cuts that eventually equal it out

What the players don't understand is they are going to be gone sooner than later and the owners are still here. these deals have to take into account the future and all these players can see is right now. The current deal screws the game years down the road and the owners want to fix that now.

Almost.

The owners currently get $1billion off the top of the $9 billion and the players get 60% and the owners get 40% of the $8 billion, which works out to almost a 50/50 split on the entire $9 billion.

The owners would like to get $2 billion off the top of the $9 billion and the players and owners would split an unspecified %, I believe the same 60/40, but that has never been established, because an offer has never been officially reported.

The players would like a simple 50/50 split of the $9 billion, which is essentially what they are getting now.

You just summed it all up for the players. They have 3 years to get their's and the owners have a lot longer. The players have every right to get theirs. You just argued the players point!

No I just proved the owners are right. Its about the game short term players at any given time. They have to take care of the game long term.

I can tell you are a player apologist, I am for the game long term so I am for the owners. I will be honest, all players are WAY over paid.

A player making league minimum should have about 525000 net over 3 seasons. It will take a person making 40,000 per year 18 years to earn that much. I don't feel for them at all. Go take that free education you got in College and go to work.

When you're an elite athlete you get paid for it. You're the one that wants to take away compensation for something that very few people on this earth are able to achieve. At best you sound like a disgruntled worker and at worst a socialist.

It sounds like you are jealous of players. I mean if you want to be jealous of anybody be jealous of the guys who OWN football teams...it's less petty

Ah I get it I am talking with a Liberal, gotcha.

Very few on this earth can do? I can eliminate all players in the NFL right now and fill it with guys out of college or from arena or whatever and in no time at all the game looks the same. That argument is a joke at best.

As for as disgruntled worker or Socialist, nope I am a hard working American and a realist. these entertainers are way over paid and lost touch with reality long ago.
