Well this QB ranking list is interesting

Stanzi has no physical tools and is one of the most inconsistent QB's in the draft.

T.J. Yates accomplished all of his stats without his top 4 RB's and his #1 WR. However, Yates was able to get the team to rally around him and in turn they won the Music City Bowl.

Stanzi definitely has the tools....but he is also very inconsistent.

I posted this in another thread, but here is who I like and don't like in this years QB Class.

I Like

Cam Newton- Auburn (Has all the talent to become a great QB)

Christian Ponder- FSU (Very intelligent and smart player)

Colin Kaepernick- Nevada (Reminds of Cam Newton, not as moblie but a better pocket QB)

Andy Dalton- TCU (The Ginga Ninja is a great leader and a decent player as well)

Greg McElroy- Alabama (If he can stay healthy he can be a sold back-up in the NFL)

T.J. Yates- UNC (Great leader and has the ability to throw the long ball like no other)

Tyrod Taylor- Virginia Tech (If he can play like his predecesor Mike Vick then why not pick him up)

Taylor Potts- Texas Tech (Interesting prospect with decent potential)

I Don't Like

Blaine Gabbert- Mizzou (Unproven and not really great at any specific part of the QB position)

Jake Locker- Washington (Always a roller coaster with him at the helm)

Ryan Mallet- Arkansas (Drug Addicts/Dealers don't translate to NFL QB's)

Ricky Stanzi- Iowa (The most inconsistent player in the draft)

Scott Tolzien- Wisconsin (Has the worst arm strength I have ever seen)

Nathan Enderle- Idaho (When he is not on he plays like Jake Delhomme, see Nebraksa game)

Joshua Portis- California- PA (Probably has the worst character issues out of all QB's in the draft)

Pat Devlin- Delaware (Seems uninterested and unmotivated unlike is predecesesor Joe Flacco)

Adam Weber- Minnesota (Turnover machine)

Jerrod Johnson- Texas A&M (I don't make much of combine performances, but his was awful)

Mitch Mustain- USC (USC quarterbacks = NO, unless you are hispanic [Mark Sanchez] or actually good [Carson Palmer])

Ben Chappell- Indiana (Throws a lot of touchdowns, however he throws just as many interceptions)

Another suspect list from the pro newton camp.

    • I have said if you out even an average QB into the offense we are averaging 25+ points a game. But that will never happen with Bryce under center.
    • The defense is 28 out of 32 in salary cap allocation for 2025. We have a ton of resources tied up in the offense including the highest paid OL in the league multiple 1st round WR's and multiple recent draft picks across the offense at TE and RB and we have two 1000 yard backs. Bryce and company couldn't get past Tyler Shough and his crew in 2 games. That's all there is to it. You can spin it and put the entire onus on the defense to your heart's desire it doesn't change the fact that this is an OFFENSIVE team now. If you want to argue that we should revert back to a defensive identity as we have been in the past which has brought us success then I will agree with you on that. But as it stands the onus is on the offense because that is where we have invested through the nose. Dave Canales and Bryce Young need to do a hell of a lot better than they have against the rebuilding Saints who without us should only have 2 wins this season.
    • Bryce is not trending up. He is the same QB he has always been. Bottom of the league in most categories.  If Canales thinks he can build a contender with Bryce then he is a bigger idiot then I thought.  Offense next year will have the same issues and be just as inconsistent as it was this year.  We have seen Bryce’a ceiling and it is 175 yards a game and that is not a QB you keep around as your starter. That is barely a backup.
