The problem with saying that guys that sat like Rivers and Rodgers benefited from sitting is that there's no way to really qualify that statement.

Yes, Rodgers' and Rivers' debut seasons went better than they likely would have if their debut seasons came when they were rookies. On the other hand, you can also make the argument that if they started as rookies, they would have been further along at that point in their career and put up even better numbers than they did in 2006 and 2008.

Basically, this is a stupid, pointless debate because you can't say that playing well after sitting means they WOULDN'T have played as well or better during the same time if they started as rookies.
