Last night's initial airing of the finale broke 4 Million viewers... the first time this series has done that...

Also, the producers have officially gone under contract for two more seasons, meaning that IF they get the go ahead from HBO, a season 4 now looks more and more likely...

That will put us up to the end of the 3rd book... As a book reader, I know that could be the best or the absolute worst place to end the series...

I hope the show keeps its draw... I want them to finish all the books... For one thing, the show and the books are amazing... Another reason is that it will push GRRM to finish the books...

Also, the show's producers know how the story ends for the most part... They got this info from GRRM himself so they didn't screw anything up too bad adapting it for TV, and possibly in the event that something happens to him and they have the rights to continue the story on TV without him...

Let's all hope GRRM just gets his ass in gear and pumps out @3000 or so pages for these last two books within the next couple of years...

The show has averaged just over 10M viewers when you combined live, repeat HBO go etc. a week. That is a good sign for a show of this kind in its 2nd season.

The season finale was up 34% compared to last year. I expect this to rise further next year as more people get interested in the show. If it gets around 15M combined numbers, I think it will have enough juice to cover the books.

The only complaint on martin is that books 4-5 should have been combined and he should of fastforward 5 years or so. I am enjoying book4 and I love the Ironborn, even though most dont for some odd reason.

But I am now seeing some of the "fiiler" complaints I read about on Amazon. Now he is old as poo and hope he ends this before he croaks.

Also great episode all around. I always thought as the "others" as more human like, meaning they werent so decomposed and they moved faster. That last shot most looked like some poo from resident evil.

naw man... the decomposing people/horses are wights... re-animated zombies that do the Others' bidding...

The White Walkers (the Others) are just a different race/species...

Also, GRRM is only 63, and in great health by all reports...

the ruined throne room in kings landing was pretty bad ass

lol a lot of people (book purists) are whining about the HOTU scene, actually... I thought it was well done, personally...

One of the main people at westeros.org (the biggest fan-site) basically made a forum rant about how after the HOTU scene they could no longer watch the show because it was deviating so far from the books... gimme a break...

to me, there's a difference between changes that add to the story, and changes that alter the story. so far there has been more of the former and very little of the latter. the story hasn't changed at all, but the gears have been reworked a little.

so they can go fug themselves if they wanted an unabridged verbatim translation. they're no better than the people that swore they'd never watch again after ned died

the story hasn't changed one bit. the way things are working have been altered for television. big difference imo

I just finished up book #3 "A storm of swords" and I feel pretty positive that if the show has been renewed for season 3 & 4 the show will be more popular than ever after season 4 (since they are covering this book with two seasons) because "A storm of swords" is by far the best book with at least a half a dozen "HOLY POO" moments.

The third book is tailor made for incredible television. It is going to be fugging awesome!!

In other words,if you liked this first two seasons, then get ready because the best is yet to come.

    • What you are saying isn't always true and I'll give you several examples to demonstrate this. 1) The best player on the board at the end of in round 1 by all consensus is RB (top 15 player in draft who slips b/c of the devaluation of the RB position). Your team is in desperate need of a LT because the current one is getting your QB killed. You already have a serviceable RB in place. The LT has a 2nd round grade and you have the first pick on day 2 of the draft Who do you choose? 2) Your run defense was abysmal the previous season. A DT in round 2 does not provide much in terms of pass rush, but most reports have him rated as the best pure run stuffing DT in the draft. The two highest rated players on your board at the time are a TE and tweener at OLB/DE who slipped into round 2 after a run on WR's. Who do you choose? 3) Your pass rush rush is solid across the board. You even have guy coming off of the bench to provide production. Your secondary in below average. No Safety on the roster is a difference maker and as a unit the squad doesn't have an INT. The highest rated player on the board is a DE. The 5th highest rated player on the board is a an intelligent ball hawking Safety. Which player would make the team immediately better?  1) I think the BPA logic applies when your team is solid across the board and you can afford to draft for depth 2) I think it also applies when your team stinks and any solid player will be an immediate upgrade over what you already have. I agree that you should NEVER reach for a player when you are need at a position like we did for Bryce Young. But I also think if there's is a player on the board that will fill a glaring weakness you need to take him even if a player with a higher over all ranking is available at another position (which isn't a need)
    • Bryce Young excels at dividing Panthers fans. That seems to be what he's best at.
    • 184 yards game, 61% completion 11 tds 5ints    thats ranks :check notes:  25th in the nfl
