Is Cam Newton a star in the making or a scrub?

Interesting quote by Bill Polian! Anyone care to discredit his evaluation ability?

"There is a huge drop-off in talent below Newton because he is a unique talent." - Bill Polian

I'm sure it will be that he took collins, biakabutuka and others..

I don't blame him for none of them picks. Tim downfall was injuries he was very talented. Anybody remebers the Redskin game where he could have went for 200 yards in the 1st half?

Then you can't blame Polian for Kerry. Kerry hurt Kerry he would be near HOFamer if he could have kept himself out of trouble and off the bottle when he was younger.

Both player were good picks you can't predict how injuries and maturity will happen.

What makes me like this kid is his drive to be good. What scares me is he has alot to work on but he seem like he will throw full effort in doing it. Couldn't say that for jamarcus or VY.

He will work his butt off to get better and believe it or not he will represent whatever franchise takes him in very positive way. The amount of time and energy he put into off field mentoring and community activities while he was at Auburn was truly impressive. What was even more impressive is that throughout all the bad pub last season he never attempted to use it to his advantage in the media by making a big show out of it.

So how does one benefit from making a big show out of bad publicity?

    • i presented this in another thread. he throws better to the out breaking routes the wr run, but almost nothing to the inside. that is half the options on a wr route tree. How do you run an offense like that?  even the outbreaking routes he throws are moonballs, that allow the DBs to catch up unless the wr is wide open. he has to throw with a lot of anticipation becuase he doesnt have the arm strenght to get it there if he is a little late. thats probably why you see balls behind the wrs.
