Talking QB's in the Draft not named Newton.

I just wanted to talk a bit about some QBs in the draft that don't have to do with our guy, and, since I'm an attention *****, I must start my own thread.

My thoughts:

Jake Locker can be a very good NFL QB. I didn't like him at all until I saw the specials ESPN had on him with Gruden, and 3 for the show. But I think he could be Delhomme 2.0.

Gabbert has never impressed me, and I don't think he will. Sitting behind Garrard though gives him a good chance though. I wouldn't be surprised if he turned into something because of that.

Christian Ponder terrifies me. The guy is insanely intelligent. Insanely. He also comes across as an old school type guy, which for no factual based reason scares me. See Hillis, Peyton. I wasn't scared of him before the draft because it seemed like he was so obscure that it really wouldn't make a difference how smart or old school he was. But the Vikings taking him early just gives the impression they know something we don't. With decent coaching, he could be a good NFL QB. Could see him as a Doug Flutie type guy, except better.

Stupid Lions and their stupid awesome DL. Reminds me of the 2003 Panthers. If Stafford is healthy next season, the Lions will be a force. Yeah, yeah, not QB's.

Dalton might slip in the 2nd round. He might not. It's a toss up. As nice as the guy is, he never really scared me.

Don't be surprised if the Phins make a move to move up and nab Kaepernick, even over Mallett. They love the kid.

With the run on QB's, the guy I've liked since the beginning, Stanzi could end up going earlier than anticipated.

Don't see Tyrod Taylor going anywhere until at least the 4th. But could easily see him going anywhere from the 5th or 6th.

This is what I have said, and what I say is important.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
