Cam Wants #2 Jersey From Clausen

Unlike others I dont want Jimmy traded. I dont want him to play, ever, but he has zero trade value so no trade needed. I do think he should give up #2.

why should Clausen just give up his #2????? IF Cam wants it so bad (and i dont think he wants it as bad as people are making it) he will pay for it and Clausen will accept. As for keeping, him, i dont think it's wise to keep him, what if Newton got hurt and Clausen had to play and played better than people think, i say trade him for nothing and keep either Moore or get a vet in.

As for the jersey in the picture, it's either fake or just a draft jersey as someone said.

So having a young backup who played well when the starter got injured is a bad thing?

yeah it creates a QB controversy, you dont want QB controversies. As good as it worked out for the Chargers with Rivers, you should also remember that they lost Brees for nothing. personally, i think you should try to trade Jimmy to Seattle who Carroll wanted at USC and then get a vet to help Newton and you still have Moore on that one year tender.

In that situation Clausen would have good trade value. Trading him now is worthless. So instead of trading a guy who has good trade value we should trade him when he has no value? That makes no sense.

What a moonbat.

If Jimmy performs well he will either be used as trade bait or retained as our back-up QB. Cam Newton is the man in Carolina regardless of what Jimmy does, there is nothing he can do to create controversy.

That's the absolute most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

not really. people would KNOW that he would be cut soon. think about it like this. what kind of trade happened with Drew Brees??? how about Derek Anderson??? it's a good move for Carolina if both turn into great QBs because then you have a choice on who to keep, BUT you likely wont get a trade. the value is already down because of Newton being on the team.

i agree, quarterback controversies happen ALL the time. people didnt expect Derek Anderson to start all that time. people didnt think Warner would create a QB controversy with Leinart and Michael Vick wasnt expected to take the Eagles job last year, the job was supposed to be Kolb, then Kolb got hurt and Vick took the Eagles job and never let it go.

False. Clausen has 3 years left on his contract. If he played well next year, Panthers would still have him for 2 years. Either a team would trade for him, or he would stay on our roster.

I don't understand your argument. We don't want Clausen to play well if Newton gets injured? Well every NFL coach must be wrong because I guarantee they all want a backup QB who can play well if the starter gets hurt.

if he's STILL on the roster after playing well than you have the QB controversy, i think it's risky to have QB controversys and no one will trade for him when they KNOW he will be free to have in 2 years. look at Brees, no team traded for him. the point i am trying to make is why keep Clausen??? everyone wanted him gone last year, a team may want him as their future now and may be stupid enough to offer a 5th round pick. Seattle would likely take him on, doubt Washington would due to the fact they like big armed QBs.

    • 100%. And these same people will claim you have an agenda. You can't have it every way. We had the lowest rated defense in the league last year. Statistically the worst ever. By PFF grades (for whatever that's worth- but they are readily accepted, used, and conveyed by most "reputable" sources), the defense was the worst ever. Not only that, PFF rated our receiving corp the worst in football last season. The absolute worst... out of 32 teams. Which is why regardless of the lip service Canales and Morgan paid to the current guys, they knew it would be criminal not to give Bryce more help. People fixating on team stats and not taking these things into context are stupid, plain and simple, and I'm for one thankful they're not running this team (or probably anything for that matter bc they obviously can't discern reality. Again, going back to the eyeball test these Narrative Nancies seem to hate so much, did they not see the windows Bryce was putting balls into? Have the generally not watched much NFL? Please, please show me the film where all these NFL QBs are making throws like this to this point Bryce was "below average" down the stretch compared to them. Bryce made more wow throws in that 3 game stretch of the Bucs, Chiefs, and Eagles than every other QB combined in all the years since since Cam got hurt I genuinely am baffled by people that can watch throws like that and act like it's nothing. I guarantee you Steve Spagnola, Todd Bowles, and and Vic Fangio didn't think it was nothing after watching the little guy torch them with players those teams would be embarrassed to trot out at the skill position players. The national media spent all year making excuses for Mahomes not having elite weapons when he had multiple 1st & 2nd round talents at the skill positions along with future HoFers in Kelce and Hopkins. Bryce wasn't throwing for 300 yards every week with David Moore and Adam Theilen in spite of jaw dropping throws and you want to say the guy played below average. For those people, again, we ain't watching the same sport. And the name calling doesn't change that... The vitriol and projection... it's off the effing charts with these people.
    • "Well you see if you remove this terrible game that terrible game this other terrible game and then focus on these games you'll see he's actually one of the better QB's in the league and he's actually as good as Jayden Daniels". My god this place is delusional. I love it.
