Matt Moore on his fate with the Panthers

You really think that's true?

People will care about Matt Moore as long as I post here.

We are posting in a thread about Marcell Dareus and Matt Moore gets brought up because I am there.

It will never end.

He will be forgotten as soon as the RFA tag is rescinded. When he is no longer a Panther.

I'll bet you any amount of money someone will still bring him up out of nowhere when quoting a post of mine.

Probably so...your posting is like the Little Albert experiment but instead of a white rabbit we have flashbacks of Matt Moore.

Moore -v- Clausen = Irrelevant

Matt is right when he said that he has to block out the "it's Cam's team stuff" because it is :cam: team.

He has to be content to work towards the next team that want's to see if he has "it". In the end, a player has to play. For Matt no matter how bad the situation (offensive line, receivers, etc..) was, it was his opportunity to loose and he lost it. He couldn't play up to the level that was required for him to succeed and Fox and the rest of the coaching staff paid the price for putting their faith in him to overcome the circumstances.

Now there is a new head coach who doesn't believe he needs to be saddled with Fox's QB selection, so he went and paid a #1 overall pick to get his guy. Now Ron will sink or swim with :cam: which is the way it should be. Matt shouldn't be upset at the door @ Carolina that is closing, he needs to get ready for the next door that opens.

It's Clausen that needs to be concerned about his place in the QB lineup. He's under contract for 4 more years and he will be given an opportunity to play in the future, so he'd better be ready when his number is called..

You can try and justify any way you want, just know that, again, I am right and you are not.

Oh I know I can try and you are right. Although it's not for the reasons you think. People won't care but he will be remembered.

Matt has never really had much of a chance to be the guy since the beginning. Honestly who knows how long he's been better than Delhomme, probably since 08 or so.

He was labeled the starter in 2010-2011. But that was with a short leash, a staff that hardly supported him(or the team for that matter), and a hyped up ND QB breathing down his neck. That whole season was a series of unfortunate events for a QB trying to make his way and prove himself.

If we don't keep him I wish him the best of luck and I think he can succeed elsewhere.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
