Do any of you have one?

I'm getting ready to set up a couple of bins but I have no idea what I'm doing. My grandpa had a worm bed when I was growing up, he converted an old chest freezer, we always had fishing worms. But thats all I remember us doing with it. Now I hear all kinds of stuff about worm tea, and worm castings being awesome for your garden. I've wanted my own worm bed for a while but mainly for fishing purposes.

I asked my Mom how they did their worm bed (also a converted coke cooler) back in the day. She said that layers of old newspaper works. I have not tried it but that's what she said.

I think aquaponics is the way to go - skip the worms go directly to the fish

Sounds like too much of a PITA to me. I just do old fashion compost but I will add a shovel full of dirt that, odds are, has a couple worms. The only 'bin' I have is a cylinder of chicken wire.

I have a regular compost bin out in the edge of the yard but it doesn't produce enough worms for me. I'd like to walk out to the garage and throw my kitchen scraps in the worm bin.
