The Broncos are actively shopping Jay Cutler

again....

trade peppers for defense either in the way of players or draft picks used only for defense.

stupid to do anything but that.

we don't NEED cutler.

we NEED defense.

btw...not saying that jake >> cutler.

truth is cutler >>>>>> jake. still not a wise thing to do.

I agree that defense should be the priority, but if you have the opportunity to snag one of the best quarterbacks in the game who is still very young, especially if you consider that Jake only has one more season here, you absolutely do it.

Yeah but Jake is getting older and they need a QB for the future. Why doyou think they havent renegotiated his contract to extend him 3 years. Jake is getting old and he needs replaced.

Jake will be restructured/extended at least through 2010 and probably 2011 sometime before TC. Bank on it.

we would suck for years if we did that.

offense might be decent but our defense would make us the next broncos or, worse yet, saints.

think, people.

this is a dumb idea.

So we upgrade the QB position by 8 million times...Lucas would be a cut if not traded and get a 2nd round pick plus room to dance in FA. Hello Bartell and Bertrand Berry

I have a feeling that this was just a one-time offer type thing. Why? Because didn't their new coach (McDaniels IIRC) just come from being the OC with New England? Well, it appears whoever is running things with NE is offering a fire sale of their players to former coaches and GMs.

McDaniels coached Cassel this season and he wanted to bring in the guy he was familiar with. He wanted to work with what he knew and not have to adjust to Cutler. So, I don't see him being offered anywhere else, despite what the rumor says. I think they're done offering him.

What's your solution for next season when Jake retires or signs elsewhere? Would you rather roll the dice on a rookie quarterback or would you rather have Jay Cutler?

I think you're missing just how good Cutler is. We're not talking about trading Peppers for Cassel. Cutler is much better than Matt Cassel. Cutler is one of the 5 best quarterbacks in the league and he's only 25.

    • No saying he mostly sucks is saying that he doesn’t suck the minority of the time.   Like if he took 17 tests and had a couple of really good showings and a handful of pretty good scores sprinkled in among the typical sub par results.   Like a golfer who went out and shot an 89.  There will be some real nice shots sprinkled in there but at the end of the day it is still 89.
    • It's worth mentioning... Game 1: Oct 11 in Raleigh. 4-3 OT win with a complete starting lineup. Game 2: Dec 13 in Philly. 4-3 SO win without Jaccob Slavin. Game 3: Dec 14 in Raleigh. 3-2 SO win with a complete starting lineup. Game 4: Apr 13 in Philly. 3-2 SO loss with the AHL roster.  Those early season games were no indication of the Canes team that finished the season. Miller and Ehlers were still trying to figure things out, Nikishin was still a work in progress and the Stankoven line was just another line. Make no mistake, the Canes team Philly will see is nothing close to what they saw at any point in the season. If the top line starts producing, Freddie stays hot and the blue line does what it does, this could be a sweep as well.
