Lovie and Martz are shrewd geniuses...or idiots.

Who is really in charge in the Windy City? Seems to me like Mike Martz is running the show (at least, offensively) , and Lovie Smith is going along for the ride. Problem is that it seems like Smith may end up going for the last ride (as in the Undertaker's last ride). So, you get rid of Greg Olson---arguably your best receiver, that happens to be a TE---and bring in the legend in his own mind, Roy Williams...

People can talk about schemes and systems all they like, you gotta have the real talent to pull it off. Muhsin Muhammad may have been right when he said "Chicago is where receivers go to die", but in this case Roy Williams is already dead. We'll see how the Martz's zombie experiment goes. The Bears are the greatest show on turf lite---very lite, as in no fat. Like the old lady in the classic Wendy's commercial asked "Where's the beef?" Glad I am not a Bears fan!

    • well i could go on & on but i will just highlight it by saying big difference trust me from the SEC & NFL.it's honestly like comparing apples & oranges especially when you are talking about a  LT. in the NFL you are going up against the most athletic freaks of nature the world has to offer . .the NFL also has much more exotic & complicated defensive schemes than what they are used to seeing at Georgis &  finally but most importantly you have to learn how to master complex bio mechanics where the body kick steps instantly as a reaction to these world class athletes rush without really making a conscious effort it's more of a learned muscle memory  & it can take thousands upon thousands of reps to master rproper technique for a LT in the NFL especially if you are still very raw like Monroe Freeling is    ...just saying
    • All that being the case or maybe being the case, we do not know Wharton’s timetable n the first place. They are being coy about it. Or maybe not. They say week to week the board says he is terminal lol and must be replaced. Who knows? It may or may not warrant a fairly drastic solution.  Walker is a bargain and we are not well stocked at OL despite recent investments. Freeling has yet to have a single padded practice. Too much speculation driving this plan IMO.
    • I would really love to know who’s actually making these moves because it’s weirdly vague who’s doing the hiring and firing.
