No way! I dont believe that. Not you. GOD WHY!!?!?!?!?

For an opinion I have that you happen to share. That a certain MV7 is better than our current starting QB.

This tool, Spot on Dtan is not a Falcons fan. He's a sad Vick troll, that got booted from both the AFMB and the EMB. He has an agenda and now he is spreading his idiotic opinions over here. I realize you guys fugging hate the Falcons and their fans, just know this butt munch is not one of them.

Dtan's favorite breakfast...

Did you even read this thread?

I'm bashing the panthers FO for their ridiculous contracts.

And defending both the JJ trade and the RE signing.

Who's really the troll?

When did I say top ten?

Your inventing of facts to prove your "point" just proves the validity of my argument.

you want to pretend Ray Edwards is going to improve your pass defense... Ray Edwards would have to bring you closer to a top 10 defense for you all to beat the Packers..

put on your seat belt if your gonna ride with me and be on my level..

Let me get this through your thick head

We were 10th in yards allowed

And 5th in points allowed.

Perhaps you use a different type of math in the carolinas...

But...

Is that not a top 10 defense?

You are, you have been perma-banned from the team's site you claim to be a fan of. You have been perma-banned from the team's site who's QB you have an unhealthy obsession with.

Forcing you to post here, because no one wants to read/respond to any of your stupid pro-Vick crap.

You're gonna learn real quick, they don't put up with BS around here like they do at the AFMB.

BTW, he's never coming back.

thanks for agreeing Ray Edwards isn't going to improve your defense anywhere close to the level needed to win a Superbowl... therefore, you just helped me prove the validity of your argument is non-existent.

you're 22nd in the league in yards allowed through the air.. and somehow you seem to think Ray Edwards is going to improve that drastically so you can compete with the likes of a team getting a lot of starters back and still gashed you for 30+ points in the postseason. you tell me?

I'm not sure what's holding you back from accepting this truth.. the point was your window is closing, and you don't have enough time to fix all the problems on your team.

I hate to bring this up. I swear. I really do.

I like you guys.

But someone had to do it.

So let's get this over with. Just touch on this subject and get back to our lives.

Look here folks.

These contracts, given by the self described "best cap GM in the NFL," are killing you!

Killing you!

Let's start with Charles Johnson.

I know he had a breakout year in 2011.

And I know you had to keep him away from my Falcons.

But you got duped.

DUPED!!!!

All reports coming out of Atlanta say that the birds were offering 7m/year.

Nowhere close to the 12/yr you gave him.

So, somehow Dimitroff (who I do not think highly of, BTW) and CJ's agent got you good.

No doubt CJ wanted to return home to Atlanta.

But did you really need to give him 5m/year more?

'Ole Chas didn't want to go home that bad.

And now you're stuck with a guy with only one season of success for 6 years/72 million.

Just great.

Moving on.

DeAngelo Williams?

Please.

I know he's done some good things for you in the past.

But he's hit a wall recently, was injured, and is already 28.

And runningbacks are going for peanuts on the open market these days.

Peanuts!

So what does the "smartest cap GM in the NFL" do?

He gives him a 5 year, 43 million dollar contract with 21 guaranteed?

:nono::nono::nono::nono:

Like I said.

I recognize that the panthers didn't have the best season last year.

And were gonna have to pay a premium to get FA's.

But 'ole "DWill" got 2 to 4 times his market value.

These chickens will come home to roost!

I guarantee it.

And on to the line backers.

Beason, I can understand that.

That guy is a playmaker. 10m/yr is fine.

But Thomas Davis at 5 years, 22 million after 2 ACL tears in a year?

James Anderson to the same contract after one okay year?

You better hope Beason can pick up their slack.

And here's the kicker (:D:D:D:D).

Your brilliant "cap genius GM" paid 12 million over 4 years for Olindo Mare?

4 guaranteed?

He of 38 years and the 80% FG rate?

Was your "brilliant GM" trying to keep up with Tampa (Signed punter to 19.5 million deal)?

Folks.

In summary.

You overpaid to keep guys who led you to a 2-14 record last year.

These chickens will come back to roost.

I'm telling you.

Cam Newton better be the future.

Or "Cap Genius Hurney" is cooked

As are you.

However, seeing as how ATL's boneheaded GM "Thomas Dummytroff" has gotten 2 "executive of the year" awards after 0 playoff wins, and a bunch of dumb moves, you may be seeing an EOY award pretty soon.

This, is why your not a GM.You can talk the talk ,but were going to walk the walk this year.1,000 yrd=DOUBLE TROUBLE remember that.Dount worrie about your QB CJ will take good care of him.Now go back to ATL BOARD TROLLER!!!!!!!!

So what new pieces did you bring in because you are now "financially sound"

Oh yeah.

The ones who led you to a 2-14 record last year.

And blaming Fox will get you nowhere.

The man is a good coach.

The fact that he was immediately hired speaks to that.

Tell the truth man.

Just tell the truth.

Actually, some of your points aren't too far off the mark. Hurney did overpay and probably survives as a yes man to JR. However, you're wrong on Fox. Our woes have largely been due to his system. He lost the team and crowd. If Fox were still here, Smith would have probably gone elsewhere. It will take time for the team to gel, but Panther football will be better and more exciting.

Not sure you understand, honey buns.

We aren't talking about yards in the air.

We're talking about the stat that matters. Yards allowed per game.

A stat that we happened to be top ten in.

And guess what?

That playoff game was an outlier.

We held that same team to 14 earlier in the season.

We held the saints to 17 in week 16.

Our 3rd CB (who gave up 6 first downs and 4 penalties) had a cracked vertabrae.

Repeating your anti-falcons garbage won't make it true.

    • Yeah and I am doubtful he can offer that consistently. I don’t have many years left at my age and in my view we have wasted two and this whole exercise with him was always a three year minimum.  I am out on that with a guy I don’t believe in, and never believed in, it has sucked. To me it is a costly detour off the right track. Years.    But I am not so rigid that I can’t see excellence. He needs to display it though, consistently before I change my outlook.
    • No, when I said rage, I meant rage, which only applies to certain fans on this board. Your timeline of trying to assess whether he is the future or not is really tied to the discussions surrounding his second contract. If this team is going to commit to some monster contract while he has shown nothing but glimpses of brilliance would be deservedly worrisome, so the clock is genuinely ticking for him to settle into something resembling his final form. Perhaps a best case scenario is that he plays well, the team succeeds, but he does so with a more limited role that makes the rest of the league view him as a game manager, and his second contract value reflects that. Then he continues to improve and becomes a bargain comparatively while not handicapping the team around him, and we enter an era of consistent championship competitiveness that the fanbase has craved for decades and has never really experienced before. But that requires many, many things to go right and for Bryce himself to facilitate that if he ends up being the quarterback of the future.
    • Exactly. And the flame throwers as well, get location benefits from not going all out. But they have it in reserve.  Not sure how much Greg had but he was an artist.  There was a YouTube I came across last year or maybe even 2023 and I don’t how to even find now but it had two NFL QBs I want say one was Carr from the Raiders but I don’t really remember  The point of it is they stood side by side throwing identical distances to identical targets. Radar gun was used.  They threw the normal effort (not all out) and it was measured etc. Then they were asked to throw their ‘fastball’. They were missing and most often they were missing high. It demonstrated the same principle.    edit: and applying that to arm strength, give me the guy that doesn’t need max effort to have good velocity. The margins are so narrow with less velocity in tne NFL the defenders can Close on it and this is a league where they value down to the 100th of a second level. It is that tight
