Dad's Home! (That's one BIG Great Dane!)

My neighbor had a Great Dane and My Fiancee had an Old English Sheep dog. (I got him for her for Valentines Day) They would were so much fun to watch. They would run back and forth seperated by a 4 foot fence, which they both could get over. They'd stop at the end, bark at each other, then take off running to the other end and repeat.

That Dane was the sweetest dog.

Henry doesn't have a clue that he can just step over things. We have a small baby gate that he can just step over if he wanted, but he doesn't know he can.

He also sits on us. He backs his butt up until he's close and then plonks down with his butt in your lap. That's if he's not trying to lay in your lap. (I think Skew can attest that this is a dane thing along with the zoomies.)

When my husband gets up, Henry gets on the bed with me. He hogs the covers and most of the bed. He'll throw a leg over me and pin me down with his head. I keep my phone by the bed because I've had to call Chris before and get him to tell Henry over the phone to get down so I can get up.

He doesn't mind people coming in the house, it's leaving that they can't do. He will block the door and bark and forcefully push someone away from the door.

My poor mom weighs maybe 100 lbs. Henry LOVES her. Soon as she walks in the door, he grabs her by the arm with his mouth and pulls her to the couch so he can sit on her. He sleeps on top of her the couple of times she's stayed the night when we were out of town. She had to call us to tell him to let her up.

He weighs about the same as my son, but he owns Ty. Ty won't sit down in the living room to watch tv with us anymore. As soon as he sits down, Henry's humping him. He'll force Ty down and pin him and hump away. We have to let him finish, cause we're laughing too hard to help. *I'm laughing so hard right now typing this. I wish I'd gotten video.*

And don't fug with my daughter. The only time I've ever worried about him hurting someone was one night my husband was on the floor wrestling with our daughter. Henry went batpoo crazy thinking Chris was hurting her cause she was kinda screaming. He started growling (if you've never heard a dane growl, it's deep and menacing when they mean business), and grabbed Chris by the ass and dragged him off Case. He then went and got between them and wouldn't let my husband anywhere near her.

Henry also talks. He sounds like scooby doo. He does it all the time and I guess we're carrying on a conversation. lol

    • I was watching a YouTube and it was said that scout and GM insider types were saying the NIL had killed rounds 4-7. I don’t know that I buy it, seems like it might for a year or maybe two but then those guys have to move on.  NCAA is apparently about to give 5 years of eligibility. It is gonna skew those entrants older maybe.
    • Miller being less raw and more pro ready makes sense of why they picked him. With us having a capable starter in Walker the lower floor higher ceiling player makes sense for us as well. I agree with that.
    • I'm from Michigan and have had this discussion with my Lions friends, and they all agree with me, they were never going to take Freeling over Miller.  As, yes, you are correct, they could have left Sewell at RT and taken Freeling, but they are in a SB contention window right now. An OL with Freeling at LT and Sewell at RT is not as strong as Sewell at LT and Miller at RT would be for this upcoming season and likely at least next year as well. 5 years it could be looked back upon as a long term "mistake" to take Miller over Freeling, but for a franchise like the Lions, you can't worry about the long term when you have current SB aspirations.  It's all about maximizing their current SB window over the next 1-3 years. And it's not about style, it's about day 1 readiness, and a lot of "experts" aren't even sure if Freeling is ready to play Week 1 yet at the position he's used to, let alone switching to a side he hasn't played before, but a career starting RT is going to be more than ready to fill that role for them Week 1. I'm 100% convinced that if our draft positioning was swapped, we'd have still taken Freeling, they'd have still taken Miller, and both teams would have got the OT that they preferred due to what each team needs right now and what their current realistic aspirations are for the 2026 season. We're in a position where we can let our drafted OT sit and learn for a bit, they needed a week 1 starter, for me that's where this discussion becomes very easy to understand why each team took the player they did.
