You are suggesting that to someone who calls herself tittering wino. Might not be the best option. ;)

haha Technically, Scrum named me..

and I personally love to hike...the other half, not so much...I will definitely look into that for some friends that do enjoy a brisk walk up the side of a mountain

TONS of hiking possiblities all over between Grandfather, Boone, and Blowing Rock.

I recommend Twigs - a very nice restaurant in Blowing Rock. There's a Sixpence Pub in downtown BR but expect it to be packed. Canyons is ok too.

Grandfather mountain is not bad for a few hours. In addition to the bridge, they have a small zoo with Cougars and Bears and a few other animals. There are a few other things to do in the area. There are some mild whitewater rafting trips on the Watuaga River, and they have an outdoor play/drama in Boone called Horn in the West, about Daniel Boone. There are some decent restaurants with ABC permits in Blowing Rock.
