Cutler should be a legit thought...

Things apparently havent gotten any better between McDaniels and CUtler, and some sources are saying that the situation may have gotten worse. Yes the Broncos are saying that they are not looking to trade Cutler, but honeslty how many times have we heard things like that only to have the opposite done.

Fox isnt the guy who wants to spend time developing a rookie QB, that we all know after all these years. Fox also knows that Jake has max. 2 years left with this team. This is going to be Jakes 7th year with the team, how many teams have had that much stability at the QB position? Pats, Colts, Eagles, Seahawks, and G-Men, Steelers, Chargers approaching that point. What do all these teams have in common? They are all among the best teams in the league every year. The Panthers included. We have been in the playoff hunt up until week 17 EVERY year since Fox has been here..

Anyway, im not going too turn this into a trade Peppers for Cutler thread, because i dont care if Peppers is included in the trade or not. I hope Hurney and Fox would do what it takes to atleast explore the possibility of getting Cutler, I would even trade next years first and this years 2nd. Not that Jake isnt fully capable, but he's nto a 25 year old rocket armed stud, he's getting up there in football years. Sometimes you have to take a chance to get the franchise to the next level. The Giants gave up the farm for Eli, and look how far it's gotten them.

I like Eli a whole bunch but I don't agree that that trade is the thing has gotten them that far. I actually think that SD made out better on the trade than NY did. I can't remember the other player who they got (4th rounder), but besides Rivers, I know one of them was Merriman.

I think they got Turner that year as well.

Yowsah...SD did indeed make out big. So did Seattle.

Aren't all those players still with SD except maybe Olshansky?

Like I said they aren't all because of the trade, but ya all of them are still with SD, IGOR left for dallas this year.

    • I mean I just don't understand the argument. Baker and Sam both have been pro bowl QBs post their time here. And you just said yourself that is due to him having a damn good roster around him and they are well coached. You're even saying the bad baker is still there somewhere, but he is in a good organization with good roster and coaching that they are getting the best out of him. Why does Baker and Sam get all that benefit of the doubt but when it comes to Bryce it must be a BY9 problem, not an org or team problem?  Hell I got a guy below you arguing with me that Chark/Hurst/Mingo sucked because Bryce wouldn't throw them open. It's ridiculous how far the stretch goes.
    • Correct.  It’s really hard to get open in the NFL when opposing defenses gameplan and cheat coverage/routes on all your players because they know your QB can’t make certain throws/plays.   magically no one that comes to Carolina can get open or make plays with the ball in their hands…..it’s like there is one singular common dominator to it all.  BY makes playing defense way too easy.   NFL players are too good to allow one side to cheat coverage and not respect all the potential threats of a route  so you can dial up a great play.  But if corners and safeties just cheat coverage and know X and Y happening on route/threats….getting open gets hard when they just play it one way.  Getting open has a lot to do with the different threats a WR can pose on a given play.
    • Kinda depends how you look at it both were 3rd round draft pics.  Nico was nothing before stroud and tank came in with stroud.  If both were on the panthers would young have them doing well and starting or would their stats be low.  I really dont know the answer to that.  None of the panthers wrs have left and did well either but personally i feel neither of nico or tank would do much on the panthers.
