Boomerang

So my parents took a long trip to Australia and they brought me back a boomerang. I want to start throwing it at the neighborhood kids and cats but I need to get deadly accurate first. Anyone a boomerang expert and can give me tips on becoming a ninja like assassin?

My brother and I had a couple from beach stores way back when. We had a big enough yard we could practice throwing them in too, but we never did figure it out. we also never got hurt by them because the damn things didn't come back. they'd shoot up straight in the air at the end of the throw, and then fall to the ground no matter how we threw them.
