Panthers favored by 3 points over Redskins

My optimism has fizzled. Even when I felt we were going to win vs the bears and falcons... we found a way to fug it up. They say its a passing league, but its difficult to do when the opposing offense is punching you in the mouth for 5-7 yards on the ground each play, eating up 7-8 mins of clock on any given drive.

I'm excited about Cam and the potential our Offense has going forward, but I've always been a defense guy. Needless to say, I'm crushed by what I've seen the past 3 weeks. We can't stop the run, we can't get off the field on 3rd downs, we're taking bad PI penalties. Aint that some sh*t

ok, i know a thing or two about the Redskins being both a redskin and panther fan. Now, the passing game is Washington is a work in progress. they havent announced if Beck or Grossman will start. if Grossman starts, he's turnover prone, blitz his head off. if Beck starts, he has a low throw, so try to bat the ball in the air. the Redskins run game can play, so that should be the panthers key. they have 3 backs, Ryan Torian, Tim Hightower and Roy Helu. the pass catchers are Moss, Gaffney, terrance Austin plays some and so does Stallworth. Chris Cooley may not play so the Tight end to watch is Fred Davis. the Redskins offensive line lost Trent Williams and their left guard to injury. if Williams doesnt play, attack the side where Jammal Brown is not. now to beat the Redskins defense is usually easier. DeAngelo Hall CAN be burnt in coverage, if you need proof watch the Dallas game where he gave up a 30 yard pass play. i would pick on Hall if i am Cam Newton. the Redskins will blitz and blitz alot, likely with Orakpo, Kerrigan and you could see some of Laron Landry. this should be close game, Washington has played in very close games this year.

one thing to keep in your mind. Look at the last 3 years. Washington has lost to Matthew Stafford in his rookie year, they lost to Sam Bradford in his rookie year. Will Cam Newton be the 3rd Number 1 overall pick to beat Washington in his rookie year???

The Skins don't have a very good running game either, which means we might have a shot at holding them under a 150 yards. They do get a lot of sacks, and they force a lot of fumbles, which I guess is a big reason they have a winning record.

the big reason for the winning record actually is that running game which helps set up the play action and made the QBs look better than they are. the problem is the redskins dont have one or two guys they have three and use the stretch play ALOT and i mean ALOT. the defense is good too, especially the linebackers.

who is their runningback?

there are 3 of them.

Torain and or Helu.

Ryan Torian started today and had a 100 yard game last week, he's not real durable or fast, big back type. Tim Hightower is there, he's more complete, he's got decent speed is big enough to break tackles and can block and they have Roy Helu, the perfect Shanahan running back, he's a rookie and is adjusting to the NFL, he's got potential.

never heard of them but they'll look like pro-bowlers next week.

yeah, you wont hear too much about those two. Torian has been oft-injured and Helu is a rookie who hasnt made a big noise........yet. Tim Hightower is the name you will likely know, the only question will be if he's healthy enough to play. Helu will see alot of playing time.

    • His first season. I saw it with my own eyes, others saw it too. Old man Dalton had to come in to make the throw. I watch every game. You must of just missed it. He had another chance a couple of weeks ago from the 50 and didn't even attempt to throw it to the endzone....cause he cant.
    • I would say if they put Corbett back at center, that would be evidence of some kind of favoritism thing going on.  I would have to ask if our coaches are leaders of men.  So they bet not do some stupid stuff like that.  It would be one thing if Corbett had pedigree at the position, a probowler.  This dude has never been a good center in the slightest, and only looked decent at the guard position in the past. (Which I don't believe he ever had a fully healthy season as a Panther)    So this shouldn't even be a discussion if you're the coaches.  But again, Corbett never should have been the starter in the first place.  I know we're armchair coaching when it comes to these things, but before the season, I was rooting for Mays to win the position.  The guy played a key role in Bryce's surgence last year.  Why mess up that combination?  And they did mess up the combination by making Corbett the starter.  It could be we might of won against the Jags had Mays been the starter. (Yes, I believe it was that critical)  We know Mays went in late against the Cards, where Bryce began looking better at the end. (Though the Cards played soft coverage)  So all these things says Cade Mays is the better center for the team.  Yet certainly he is the better center for Bryce if nothing else.
    • He was our best YAC guy in 2023 and 4th in 2024(behind Hubbard, Sanders, Coker). He was a great and productive WR for us because he knows how to play the game, he had a connection with Bryce specifically and our other options have largely been atrocious.
