A thread about bad football parents

So, tonight at the football game in the first quarter, a parent from nash central came over to our side, climbed on the band director's stand and proceeded to yell at him. The guy then grabbed our directors head with both hands and was shaking it. I think our director was in shock but did shove the guy off the stand. It's not like our director could hit him in front of all the kids.

Early in the 2nd quarter, the guy comes sauntering back by, salutes our director, and walks back around to the visitor side. By this time, security had been made aware of the guy. They tossed him during the half.

This guy was coked out of his mind and you could smell alcohol on him.

My husband had a part in all this, but doesn't want me to talk about it. I'll just say my hubby went to the director's defense and went after the guy. We love our director.

Oh, and the guy was pissed because the band was playing while nash central was on offense. Hello, dumbass. That means we were on defense and can make all the noise we want.

Our band didn't shut up the entire second half when we were on defense. Caused several delays of game against the bulldogs. :) Don't piss the band director off.

Icing on the cake? We won.

i've been involved in martial arts for fifteen years, and i was heavily involved in the tournament circuit for half of them... and having worked as a judge in those tournaments i can tell you the absolute worst thing to deal with was the parents of some of the kids. i swear half those people check their brains at the door when they come in.

this one woman volunteered as a scorekeeper in one of the rings, conveniently putting herself in the one where her son (about ten years old) was competing. the kid was a little punk, goofing around the entire time. she asked me what judges look for and one thing i mentioned is how the competitor presents himself from the moment he enters the ring, and she immediately went over and told him to straighten up. then after he'd gone through his forms in front of the judges and gotten low scores, she tallied them up and put his name at the top of the charts.

the head judge called out the awards and i pointed out that the math was done wrong, this kid hadn't even actually placed in the top three. the woman immediately freaked out saying it would be heartless to take the trophy from him since he'd been awarded it, and demanded that both kids get to keep the first place trophy. the judge didn't realize what she'd done and agreed with her.

i wanted to punch that ***** in the face.

    • If all you're looking at is his season yardage statistics, then sure, they won't look great, but look a little deeper and the production is clearly there on the field... As an UDFA,  the teams #3 WR, and poor QB play, he had 478 yards in only 11 games.  If he had that average over a 17 game season he would have had a 738 yard season as an undrafted rookie.   This past year he missed the start of the season and clearly took time to get back to form once he was back.  But remove his first 4 games getting back to form, and over the final 7 games he had a per game average that would have been a 796 yard season over 17 games. 796 yards this past season would have been 34th in the league overall, and 27th best for a WR.  And that was all before he went and dropped a 134 yard game in the playoffs.   Pretty sure that's pretty darn good production for a 2nd or 3rd option, no? So again, I think it's wildly unfair to say we only have 1 WR, as if Coker plays a full season this year, he should be good for 800-1000 yards, even with T-Mac next to him getting 1,200+ himself. This is why I don't at all see the need for drafting a WR in the 1st this year, not while still having XL, Horn Jr, and I guess Metchie even though I'm not at all sold on him.  Draft a speedy WR in the 3rd or 4th and/or sign a vet (is DHop still out there?) to play in the slot this year, and use that 1st on a position of more need.
