T.O interview on NFLN

Before people start yappin' about this being in the wrong section it had a nice little quote from him about the Panthers and Cam.

It was thought provoking and does put into perspective that there are more things than just talent cam brings to Charlotte. Sooner or later everyone is going to want to catch a ball from this fella.

And if this is already posted. Quit yer' bitchin'.

"I want to go to a team that's on the cusp," or a playoff contender, he said.

That includes the Carolina Panthers, where rookie quarterback Cam Newton is off to a strong start.

"Cam Newton is amazing," Owens said.

That's when things got interesting.

"He's getting praised, but I guarantee you if (Broncos quarterback Tim) The Golden Calf of Bristol was doing what Cam was doing, he'd be all over billboards," Owens said. "He'd be on every commercial. He'd be all over the place."

dead on

analysts on espn were discussing whether or not The Golden Calf of Bristol is "for real" after that dumpster fire of a performance he had last sunday. cam gets a lot of praise but goddamn it's just insulting to see the espn hype machine in full spin every time The Golden Calf of Bristol fugs up and accidentally throws the ball near a receiver

based on performance to date and potential for growth moving forward, cam's ceiling is unlimited. dude should get a 15 minute segment for every time The Golden Calf of Bristol's name is even mentioned.

and now for something completely different...]

Seriously? Rally everyone of those braincells by looking beyond the content of the link, and indulge yourself with in depth thought about the quote that was provided. However, I expect many huddlers to either not have the age or the brain power to focus on the original intent of the post. So your post doesn't surprise me one bit.

    • Yeah, honestly being a long-term backup is at least as much about being a good lockerroom presence and accepting your role as a supporting piece and not being a greasy wheel as much as it does about ability. Backup QB requires a completely different mindset than the starter and some guys just can't make that switch. It doesn't make them bad guys or locker room cancers or anything like that, it just makes them not what you're looking for in a long-term backup. You bring in that type of guy to compete. You don't bring in that type of guy if you're not looking for competition.
    • Im saying its Tar Heel fans who would do that. I root for all Panthers to succeed regardless but college affiliation means zero to me
    • We have some good pieces.  Enough to be competitive week to week.  Coaching seems to be improving but they’ve made it much harder on themselves than needed.  There are very good reasons to be optimistic about the future. However, I don’t trust them yet.  Wins are odd looking and mostly ugly.  Our opponents have to have a bad day for us to hang with them.  A lot of that is because we still haven’t figured out the most important position and will continue until it’s solved. I think Morgan has done a nice job in both the draft and FA so far.  He’s getting better each day he’s in that position. As far as the players listed, I’m pretty much in agreement.  XL and Bryce are not performing the way they should at this point.  I will say XL could see more success in a vertical passing attack to better utilize his speed. And as always, Fug Tepper.
