Jay Jay (Cutler) Just Wants to Be Loved

OK, I see your point. But, I kind of believe that though you guys may argue about the technicalities of the thread, perhaps you just don't want to talk about Cutler anymore---whether in this thread, or any. I will leave it alone since it's obviously upsetting some of you.

That's classic! This thread was worth it just for that comment alone.

The talk doesn't bother me. It's the number of threads covering the same topic over and over and over that bothers me.

So you're saying that Fox is not operating out of loyalty on some level? Does he just believe that Delhomme gives the organization its best chance of dancing in February? Or, is he just placing Jake on a pedestal because he has no other option? Which is it? Is it a combination of the two? Loyalty doesn't fit into the equation? Come on.

Well maybe I am giving him too much credit...but I think a HC's job is to look at all aspects of his team and see how they fit TOGETHER..as a WHOLE. It isn't just "OGMZ!! I <3 Jake 4-eva!!!11!"...it's "if we have a guy like Jake, we can spend more resources elsewhere to help the team". At least that's the way I look at it.

I am not certain that things like "loyalty" to Foster were not simply moreso "deference to Henning who was the experienced OC since Fox was a DC". I had heard that Henning had personnel input, and that is part of why the OL was such a mish mosh. Also, I do recall how many many of us never felt Foster was used properly by Henning based on Foster's skills.

    • I was playing around with the ESPN playoff predictor and it shows if 49ers and Rams finish with same record, the Rams hold the tiebreaker.
    • This is my thinking as well. Seattle played as good as they could on defense and Panthers still had a chance until those back to back turnovers.  I don't think the Rams played particularly well in their game against us, alot things went our way in order to win.  Someone pointed out the Rams were bad on the east coast road games and Seattle has been the better road team but they just fought a hard contested game against the Panthers, and now they travel to San Fran this week for their biggest game of the season to determine the division and if they are the overall #1 seed in the NFC or will be traveling for the Wildcard weekend.  If they lose they then travel back cross the country to play a team they've just beaten two weeks ago, not saying they won't be favored against the Panthers but the energy of hosting our first playoff game in 10 years along with the get back effect of having just lost to this team could be huge.
    • I don’t know about shadowing and all that, but according to this, whatever we are doing is working
