And look at the teams we've lost to, they're all playoff teams excluding the Cardinals. We beat a teams in Washington and Jacksonville who unlike the other teams DO NOT have franchise QB's (Kolb is ???) personal opinion he's over-rated we should see soon.

We were in all those games because of the pass, and if you dig deeper you'd also see that we were down and had to pass even more than we already do. Face it they're developing Cam in game (which is why we pass so much) as well as we're transitioning into a "chunk offense" and we get our chunks in the air, the running game is becoming a compliment to our passing game, and not vice versa like before.

Rivera already described his vision for "balance", and to him that's being able to pass when you need to pass, and run when you need to run. He never discussed a ratio.

We are talking about Chud's design of a balanced passing and running attack. Scrambles aren't really a part of the design but rather a nice side benefit.

I think 25 runs, 25 passes and 10 scrambles by a running QB is about as balanced as you would ever want for this offense.

Scrambles should go into pass calls and designed runs into the run column. The problem is sometimes it may not be so clear as to which is which.

I think on Cam's attempts you basically just split them down the middle and therefore rule them out now that I've looked at it. Some are sacks, some are designed and some are scrambles.

It's not about numbers. It's about being balanced. Chud has changed the game plan a lot the last few weeks to make it more balanced. A lot of Cam's runs are called runs. He hasn't scrambled from pass plays very much. Only a few a game.

nobody is perfect but I would rather it be this way then if jeff davidson was our coordinator right now.

They are a pretty good running team with a pretty good offensive line but they pass the most in the nfl.

Obviously creating a balanced attack is not just about choosing an even number of pass and run plays. Game situations dictate plays as does your opponent. If the running game is being shut down then you may have to pass etc...

I understand throwing it a lot with Cam though.. Just look at what its done. Chud sent this guy out there and got him some NFL experience. Sure we were also trying to win the game, and the offense came up short sometimes, but never was there a game where we just lost it because we didn't have enough offense. Now the kid goes perfect in the second half this past Sunday, and is just out there ballin now. His development has been fantastic, and you got to give Chud some cred. He did it with DA man. DA.

If we can play within the flow of the game we can be balanced. If we're spotting teams points on big plays and special teams we're forced to put the game on Cam. But, we now have a real deal QB who can carry a game. Let him cut his teeth early.

also Chud is a new coordinator for our team with no OTAs, and no minicamps to see how our players are playing.

Yes our running game is good but we ran it a lot last year and the results werent there due to unusual circumstances.

lets wait till the season is over before we decide whether chud is not balancing the offense enough.

How about you add Cam's rushing attempts inside the 20. Most if not all of the rushing attempts Cam has outside of the red zone are not by design. 33 of Cam's rushes are not draw plays and 24 of his rushes are in the red zone. Now if for those wanting me to include dump off's or screens, I will gladly do that as well. After looking at his situational stats. His rushes and screen plays add up to about ten more balanced plays, if that's what you would like to call them. Adding ten to six of the seven previous games does still not incorporate a balanced offense.

I did research before making the thread, try harder. We're not balanced at all.
