Scouting Report, perdraft websites: Pros–Good tackler for his size, plays the ball well, playmaker, versatile, can play anywhere on the field for four downs, excellent return specialist, not as impressive of an athlete as Patrick Peterson, but a great athlete nonetheless, excellent cover corner, instinctive…good length…great with the ball in his hands after an interception…no character concerns

Cons–Could add some weight to his frame….not elite speed but still fast…can get unfocused at times allowing a receiver to come at him and then quick move him and get behind him on occasion…willing supporter in run defense, but can be blocked out of the play by bigger good blocking wide receivers…

Why the Panthers should draft him: Because the Secondary could use an upgrade, plain and simple, though I'd rather go the FS route. It could use a playmaker. Gamble is having a career year. That said, CB is a lot like WR-there are a slew of other young talents behind Gamble, but we don't know if any are capable of taking on the mantle and becoming a dominant player. Don't get so attached to our players that you'd forsake an upgrade.

Claiborne has established himself as the best CB prospect in this year's class. For starters, he's tall-not as tall as Stephon Gilmore who could probably be had in the second round, however, he is also very fast. 4.3 fast. A good Corner who has been a cornerstone of the currently number one ranked Tigers' team this season. Would be a nice addition, especially if he fell past 12 or 13-where he would be a Nick Fairley type steal, minus the bumbling idiot appeal Fairley had.

I think he gets taken before we pick but if hes there you take him. Gamble and Claiborne would be the best CB tandem in the league. I know people are going to say Captain and Butler are playing well and we have Hogan coming back but the bottomline is that if we want to get to the Super Bowl we're going to have to go through the Packers, Saints, Lions, Falcons, Eagles, Giants and other teams that have great passing games and a ton of solid WRs. In todays NFL you can never have enough good CBs. If Claibornes available in the first take him and go OLB in the second.

I agree. We have to go threw the Packers to get to the superbowl who have about 4 great wide receivers to deal with. If Hogan is as good as i hope then he would give us a great nickel corner to defend the inside. Claiborne and Gamble on the outside would be one of the best tandems in the league and Claiborne would just assume the number 1 when Gamble is not around anymore, we would be set for a long time.
