Exactly. After most of these experts were made to look like fools by Cam, you would think they would hedge their bets a bit on Luck. Instead, many seem prepared to induct Luck into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

They are doing him a huge disservice. Anything less than spectacular play will have people calling him a disappointment.

I know it, and if that were to happen, I'd feel bad for the guy. I'm not quite sure why they always tend to lean towards one extreme or the other? Never have. And it just blew up in their faces. Oh well, I guess they have to talk about something. :prrr:

We would have, but then you had to go and grow that neck beard. Projecting normal growth patterns, by opening day next year, you will resemble a dark-haired Nick Mangold.

That is not the image JR wants to be his "face of the franchise".

Yeah, but would u be having the same relationship with Steve Smith as Cam is having? I mean, all u hear now on these sports talk shows is how much having Cam has revived Smity and it's showing in his yards. Could u have guaranteed to give Smity the help he needed or would u have been another Jimmy Clausen once real pressure hit u?

I caught ur game last weekend and if I didn't know u for all the hype, I'd say u played no better than the QB u played against.

Well yeah.... now. After Palmer, its clear that the Raiders would trade 1st, 2nd, & 3rd rounds til 2020 for Luck...

Are you a bit jealous or nervous over Cam Newton's success in the NFL?

Is it Cam's superior arm strength that gives him better deep ball and downfield accuracy then you?

Is that why he beat Oregon and won a national championship and the Heisman and you didn't or was it his superior athletcism?

Interesting point, with the new rookie wage scale being tilted back towards ownership in the limiting of rookie wage structures, wouldn't that encourage high value rookies to hold out from signing for teams they don't want to play for? Eli was a family power play, but I don't remember ever seeing a #1 pick do that.

Even with all the hype on Luck there are no sure things when it comes to drafting a player no matter what anyone says, right now knowing what I know, I think Luck staying in another year saved the Panthers, because you could not ask another rookie QB in the NFL to do any better then what Cam has done so far, if luck even does 3/4's of what Newton has done so far he would be considered a success.

      It's crazy with how much winning was going on when we had a little cool off period that we're still just a couple games out of 6th. Moussa is getting better every week and Coby is getting comfortable. Would be nice to get to 6 but I think this team is a lot more stacked than the last couple play ins. I can't remember the exact rules but if you're 7th seed and win the first game I think you automatically move on and don't have to play the second game?

      I think it was a thing for sure. Panthers weren’t too many people’s first choice. Or 5th choice.  2022 and 2023… coaches fired mid season. Consecutive years. You want any of that?  He has definitely overseen a rehab of how the Panthers are perceived. Because we are a place that is seen as up and coming. And just the little thing of he accommodated Theilen so graciously, that gets noticed. It all adds up. Dan is doing a lot of things right, probably most things.  Needs a good draft.

      K, I think that is dumb, but you do you. I didn't find anything online that made him out to be a dislikable person. I am certain the Panthers would have cared so much if they lost your fandom if they hired Sean Payton. But bet you would have come crawling back if Sean lead us to a Super Bowl victory or Golden leads UNC to a champion ship. It is easy to say you are gonna leave a team if the hire someone you dislike when the chips are down. But people like you tend to come crawling back once the team finds success.
