Prime time game tonight Alabama VS LSU "Draft thread"

I can't have a conversation with someone who doesn't know what they are looking at. Courtney Upshaw, is a great player, but he is PERFECT as a 3-4 OLB, and he will be drafted as one. I can guarantee 100% that he is and will not be on the Panthers radar come draft time. :beatdeadhorse5:

Courtney Upshaw, DE-OLB, Alabama -- Considered by many as the top 3-4 linebacker prospect from the senior class, Upshaw showed why during Alabama's demolition of Florida. He was omnipresent throughout the game, leading the Tide with 4 solo tackles and 3 tackles for loss, while also adding a sack and an interception. Though he measures just 6-foot-2, Upshaw offers a complete game and the skills to start at the next level.

2. Von Miller/OLB/Texas A&M: Miller started the season slowly with an ankle injury but was playing as good as any linebacker as the season ended. He spent much of his A&M career tormenting opposing quarterbacks out of a three-point stance and moves toward the draft as the top 3-4 outside linebacker.

Just because he's a great fit in a 3-4, doesn't mean a 4-3 doesn't take him and mold him..

But, to your point, I think that Upshaw might be too big to be a linebacker in anything but a 3-4. I didn't realize how big he was until I watched the game last night.

Fugly game. I don't get why people are saying this is a great game. Just a couple of weeks ago the Browns/Seahawks had a 6-3 game that people said was one of the ugliest NFL games ever, yet a 9-6 game between two teams with zero offense is worthy of a rematch in the title game? Bitch please.

Then you have people saying OK st. shouldn't move to #2 because they had a "terrible" game against Kansas St.

Because it's the SEC and because ESPN ( among others) told everybody it would be a great game. Once again though, the reality didn't match the hype.

Both these teams have no trouble scoring 40 against anyone else in college football. There were probably 20 guys playing defense last night that will play in the NFL.

I completely disagree.

This game was hated by the same people who hate 1-0 baseball games. There's a tension in these close games that make them great.

I thought this game was everything it was supposed to be. 15+ players who will play in the NFL one day, two incredible college coaches, and a spot in the National Championship game.

Anyone who thought this game was going to be high scoring was going into it with the wrong expectations or don't watch enough CFB. Did I expect it to be higher that 9-6, yes. But really not much more than that, somewhere in the high teens. These defenses have carried these teams all year. People look to the missed extra FGs for missed points, but those were tough FGs because LSUs defense was stingy.

Definitely the two most over hyped teams in the nation. I'm sorry neither offense has a QB who would be starting on most other teams on CFB. Yes, their defenses are great, but at the end of the day I wouldn't trust them to win me a game when it counted.

Did you see the Oregon-LSU game? Bama-Arkansas game? Two really good teams that both LSU and Bama beat. Their defense will carry them and it has been shown. But that is not to say their offense isn't capable of holding their own. These defense were just the two best and they happened to play each other.

One player that gets overlooked in this game is LSU #18 Brandon Taylor. When you think of secondary between these two games you think Dre, Tyrann, and Morris Claiborne. But Taylor was everyone last night especially in helping stop the run. Honey Badger on the other had get trucked by Trent.

Stanford offense vs LSU defense would be entertaining.

*waits for the SEC ball huggers*

I'm not an SEC fan, in fact, I don't even have a team I root for in college football. But, last night, Urban Meyer said he's sure that Andrew Luck couldn't move the ball on LSU.
