Prime time game tonight Alabama VS LSU "Draft thread"

I completely disagree.

This game was hated by the same people who hate 1-0 baseball games. There's a tension in these close games that make them great.

I thought this game was everything it was supposed to be. 15+ players who will play in the NFL one day, two incredible college coaches, and a spot in the National Championship game.

Right . If two unranked teams played the exact same game, you would all be calling it garbage football, but because it was an overhyped SEC match up, it was great drama. Then again, you probably wouldn't be calling it anything because there would not be a thread about it in the first place.

I'd love to see Stanford in the title game against LSU just to see Luck matched up against a SEC defense. I know OSU is more explosive, but I feel like we'd be watching a pro QB (no offense to Weedan, but uh, he's no Luck) vs a pro defense with a Stanford/LSU match up.

Plus I'd like to see Luck get owned by LSU just to knock him down a peg :P

There's a difference between two unranked teams with that score and the game last night. It's not like these teams were dropping passes for TDs, or that there was sloppy play, or there was missed assignments. Unranked teams who finished with that score would probably have many of mistakes. The reason the score ended this way was because of the great defense that was displayed. You don't just look at the final score to see if a game is entertaining or competitive. It's how the game is played.

I am not sure we will get a chance. Next week will decide their fate but I see Oregon beating them.

Wait, haven't all Panthers fans been talking about how much more interesting the 2011 Panthers have been because of these high-scoring games? Which is it: are high-scoring games more exciting or are soccer-style no TD games more exciting?

Yeah but we still aren't winning games. The reason it's more exciting because we are putting up points. But more than anything wins and a good all around team makes it an interesting watch.

I guarantee you that there were plenty of well played games that were ignored this week because of this Bama vs LSU game. It's all about the hype.

It would be good theater.

There was indeed sloppy play, particularly on Alabama's part. Dropped passes, missed FGs, a lot of points left on the field. I don't know why they get ignored, but that's how it was. There was great defense, but there was plenty of totally pooty offense too. LSU, in typical LSU fashion, refused to beat themselves so they won the game.

Maybe wasn't as sloppy as the Browns-Seahawks or w/e, but I didn't see that game.

I was more interested in watching how potential pro prospects on defense were playing than seeing the game itself.

Even the ending of the game completely abolished the typical excitement of college overtime, haha

It can go either way. High scoring games between two high-powered offenses are fun to watch.

Low scoring games between two great defenses are also fun to watch.

However, watching mediocre offenses run up the score against each other because neither team has a lick of defense is not fun to watch. Same goes for low scoring games simply because two teams have awful offenses to where even a mediocre defense can shut them down.

I didn't see much sloppy play. Those missed FGs were tough FGs. They weren't gimmes. What Saban should have done was punt/take delay of game to punt. LSUs defense was stingy in the short field. It was just great defense. Saban was just too arrogant not to punt.

I didn't see too many dropped passes or more than the ordinary.
