Just Bought a Fish Tank

and will be installing it tomorrow. 37 Gallons..

Going to be a surprise to the daughter and wifey.

I pretty much know what to do but was wondering if anybody that has owned one for a long time has any tips?

no. im putting the tank together tom when my wife leaves for canada...

it needs to start cycling for a couple days before I can put any fish in.

no..im just going to put semi agressive tropicals in there.

might need some aquarium salt but thats it.

yea, i was gonna say... make sure it cycles... get some bacteria in a bottle to help out.

how did you clean your gravel?

mine hasn't set up all the way... i washed it like i would rice. In a bucket, fill, wash, dump, repeat.

but i don't have 37 gallons worth. :)

At 37 gals I would sty away from the semi to aggressive fish. Not a lot of space in that tank and it will limit the number of fish that you can keep.

A ton of smaller communal fish will look great in a smaller tank like that.

...of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong
