Allergy testing....

So I have begun getting shots to hopefully make me less allergic to the world. During your initial visits to the doctor, they give you shots in the arm of things you may be allergic too, I.e. weeds, pollen, dust, etc... Today, they gave me 36 total shots, 18 in each arm. I was asking the nurse what each shot was and she told me one of them was for cockroaches.

Me "injecting with cockroaches huh? What part of the roach do you use for the shot?"

Doc "humans are not allergic to the roach itself"

Me "then why test for it?"

Doc "humans are allergic to the roach droppings"

Me "roach droppings, you mean poop?"

Doc "yes"

Me "so you are injecting roach poop into my arm?"

Doc "yep!"

In the arm? Weird...

I took the test in like 2000 and they did it on my back... took a bunch of bottles of stuff, dipped a little thing with a sharp point on it, and scratched me with it, circled it and numbered it...

I was allergic to pretty much everything... Took allergy shots for a couple of years and it really, really helped a LOT. Between that and Allegra, I'm pretty much allergy free now.
