Anyone heard Tom Morello's solo stuff, The Nighwatchman? Very different than RATM/Audioslave, but pretty fuging good. Didn't even realize he had a full album out.

i didn't like anything he did after rage's first album, but i can appreciate his unique style

Certainly nothing tops the first Rage album, but he's done some great stuff since, IMO. This is certainly very different and much more stripped down, but if you listen to the full album there are heavier songs that are closer to RATM.

i dunno about that. jerry cantrell is pretty damn good. so is mike mcready.

and then there are dozens of speed metal guitarists from around that time when death metal was just getting warmed up, but that's an entirely different classification of style.

playing fast means you've worked hard, but it also usually means your style is inorganic.

lol this is incredibly lame... sorry...

His vocals suck, and are almost like Bob Dylan level of suckage, and his riffing is pretty damn organic...

Also, his vocal delivery doesn't match the music... He's playing a harmonica and an acoustic guitar, but wants to sound angry or forceful with a singing voice...

I can appreciate it for what it is, but that isn't saying much...

RATM was great, but they were never as musically as innovative to me as this band... just more mainstream and with better vocals...

I liked Audioslave, but the two bands above were much better.
