Anybody pick up the new Godfather II game?

I went ahead and bought it. I've only played about an hour but my initial impressions are these:

-don't like the voiceovers. If you're not a big fan of the movie then this probably doesn't matter, but I AM a big fan of the movie and Frank Pentagelli/Michael Corleone/Fredo Corleone/Hyman Roth sound NOTHING like their movie counterparts. Of course Pacino can't do the Michael bits because of some contract bullshit, and John Cazale (Fredo) has been dead for over 20 years but there has got to be voice overs that can make a reasonable facsimile.

-Graphics are not nearly as good as GTA IV. I'm not a big graphics ***** so this doesn't bother me at all.

-I noticed a couple of the lines are out of place from the movie. Again not a big deal if you haven't seen the movie, but it's a little weird hearing one of Pacino's lines coming from some no named character.

-Still don't like the waypoint system. In GTA you get a line on the minimap which takes you to your destination...here you still don't. Oh, you can make waypoints but figure out the streets yourself. You'll eventually get there I guess, but this annoyed me the first time around and still does.

I haven't really played enough to say whether I like it or not.

One thing is for sure, if you have kids you don't want to play this one around them. Bare titties and lots of cursing. I'm actually glad to see that they are starting to tailor these things more to an adult crowd. I think even GTA had the strippers with pasties.

One of the rackets you take over is actually a porn studio or something...they had a chick bent over a bed with a dude standing behind her like they were getting ready to shoot a scene. Dude had a cowboy hat on. LOL.

After playing the game a little more, I think it's safe to say that this game isn't that great. It gets old pretty quick. Very repetitive. It's also a bit too easy for my taste. It isn't that challenging at all. Disappointing considering that I've been looking forward to this game. This game is nowhere near as good as any of the GTA games or the first Saints Row (haven't played the second one yet).

    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
