Watching NFL live and they agreed with Smitty's comments over Cam being more of a complete player, but then the underachieving Tim Hasselbeck starts to say Cam isn't a leader and goes to the bench and puts a towel over his head. These analyst just won't stop.

that towel over the head is WAY WAY WAY WAY overrated!!!! the Fox crew did great on explaining it when they said that he wears it like that because of Michael Jordan, so in my book that thing is overrated, the only thing i would agree with on The Golden Calf of Bristol being better is that The Golden Calf of Bristol makes better decisions, but with accuracy, arm strength, that's Cam. as a leader, i think both are similar.

I'm pretty sure they both agreed that Cam was the most complete player of the two. In fact, that "underachieving" Tim Hasselbeck said Cam had a much higher ceiling than The Golden Calf of Bristol.

I think he had a valid point about leadership. It's not like he said Newton is incapable of being a leader. He just hasn't shown it.

I know different guys have different leadership styles, but Cam does look a bit distant and dejected on sidelines, not even talking about the towel but losing seems to have gotten to him. I probably miss a lot of it since my stream quality is low and I can usually only see what he's doing when the camera is actually on him, but he doesn't seem like the kind of guy who fires people up on the sidelines all the time... maybe that is part youth, too. Dunno, I'm not worried about it yet and I think it's premature to decide on anything relating to Cam's "leadership" abilities.

the one thing is that The Golden Calf of Bristol isn't very good during most of the game, but the fact he is avoiding turnovers during that period is slightly redeeming. It's not like he's failing to move the offense and consistently turning the ball over... He just fails to move their offense outside of 2 minutes.

I honestly think The Golden Calf of Bristol & the broncos offense have bought into "a punt isn't a bad play."

they have shown they CAN move the ball when needed, but they seem to want to keep the game as close as they can by not risking turnovers or whatever by actually, uh, moving the ball. I dunno, it's weird, but it's been strangely working so far. It has to stop working at some point..

The best way I've heard it described is " He's a non factor for 58min. For 58 min he doesn't help the Broncos but he doesn't hurt them either. The D keeps it close & then The Golden Calf of Bristol helps."

    • At this point, I think Chubba is the odd man out. I hate that, but I think Dowdle gives us more production and big play ability.  But there is still a lot of football to play.  I think it depends on how much Dowdle will want too.
    • I’ve been anti-trade when it comes to Melo, but the way this season has started, it may be time.  I love his game and he’s a cool dude, but I’m starting to think, if he’s your best player, you’re never going to win anything of significance.  Too many brain farts, too many injuries, and ultimately for as fun and entertaining as he is to watch - his game is indeed a thing of beauty - it just doesn’t translate to wins.  And that’s IF he even plays.  I think it’s time to cash out and maximize the return.  I love Melo, but I think it’s pretty clear what the ceiling is for a team where he is the best player.
    • Every NFL team, college program, hell even HS has numerous "what ifs" that got derailed by injury. It's a brutal sport and half the battle is just getting lucky enough to stay healthy. Doesn't matter how durable you are and how well you take care of your body everyone is one weird hit or awkward twist away from a career derailing injury.
