Monster top 10 Mock #1

I’m only Doing the top 10 for the first round.

Colts- Andrew Luck QB

The Colts will not pass this chance up to land a franchise QB.

Vikings- Matt Kalil

The Vikings have a bad pass defense and I really wanted to give the Morris Claiborne. They can't pass up the chance to land a elite LT like Matt kalil. He will be good for years to come.

Rams- Justin Blackmon

Blackmon is a nice WR. If Matt kalil was still on the board he will be slotted right here at 3 because the Rams offensive line is horrific. So I have them taken the BPA and that's Blackmon.

Jaguars- Morris Claiborne

I really wanted to give the Jaguars RG3 here, but they just drafted Blaine Gabbert. I will say this, If the Jaguars hire an offensive coach for there head coach job then he will keep Blaine and try to fix him. If not they hire a defensive coach he will take Morris Claiborne or RG3.

Browns- Trent Richardson

Richardson is the most complete running back in this draft. With the rumblings that Peyton Hillis will like to be a free agent next year Trent Richardson would be a great replacement. He has AP type potential.

Buccaneers- Dre Kirkpatrick

Ronde Barber is getting older and I don't trust Talib with his off the field issues. The buccs take Dre kirkpatrick who has great upside to be a nice Shut down CB in the league.

Redskins- RG3

The Redskins are a good team they are just missing one piece and that's a QB. I have RG3 landing here and he will be the best thing to ever happen to the Redskins organization.

Panthers- Vontaze Burfict

I was very torn on this pick because I am a huge fan of the Panthers. The Panthers have huge needs all over the defensive side of the ball except DE. I don't see a CB good enough to take here but the Panthers could go OT. With Cam having the ability to run it saves the Panthers at OT for now. So what I will say the Panthers will be in position to take an Defensive Nightmare in Vontaze burfict. He is a protype LB. He can play any LB position on the field and he can cover from sideline to sideline. With Jon beason " A great leader like him will keep him in check" and james Anderson next year also. The guy is an Defensive impact player. He has a chance to be a Von Miller type stud. He has top 10 potential that's the only way I have him going here. Look for the best LB corp ever in Carolina.

Dolphins- Landry Jones

I think the Dolphins will finally take a QB here.

Bills- Alshon Jeffrey

The Bills get a big time playmaker in Alshon Jeffrey.

It's my first mock for this year. Please give me all of your insight so my next mock can be on point.

Wtf is with people and Vontaze Burfict? He isn't even going in the top 10

Have you seen this guy play. He brings the intensity to games the way Ray Lewis does. He is not a dirty player he just doesn't know how to control his self and emotions during games. You guy's don't think Rivera can fix that? We need a impact playmaker on that side of the ball. Trust me he will be one. You same guys said the same thing about cam when i wanted him last year. He has Von Miller type of potential.

I agree with all that except our pick and the Rams pick...as good as J. Blackmon is he is not top 3 pick worthy good. Especially as a WR.

Blackmon is not getting out of that top 5 range. He isn't a speed demon but he will be a good WR to develop with Sam Bradford and the other teammates. The only WR they have woth mentioning is Brandon Lloyd and he is 31 I think.

I'm sorry was Cam commiting personal fouls costing his team games? No. If he doesn't listen to his coache s now then why would he listen to Rivera?

no i didn't.

cam was a clean player. that was never debated.

burfict is a roughing the passer or personal foul and an ejection waiting to happen.

I understand were you guys are coming from. It's a difference between on the field issues and off the field issues. If he was doing stuff off the field that I don't feel like is right then I would agree we shouldn't have a guy like him on our team. He has made mistakes on the field that may have cause his teama lost. I understand that. Burfict is a good player who plays with emotional intensity. If it wasn't for this a lot of mocks will have him in the top 10. With a guy like Burfict on your team you get to see how good your locker room character is. You get to see guys on the field say "Hey man don't do that, keep your head in the game". Guys like Beason and James Anderson will have a huge impact on this guy. He has playmaker ability talent that's the reason I have him in the top 10. We need a playmaker on our defense.

    • You keep mentioning the impact on the salary cap, but that's literally not the point with all these 2nd Rounders, it's all about precedent and it being a slippery slope that would lead to more fully guaranteed contracts for veterans. That's what the teams are making sure this doesn't get to, because yes, you're right, the guarantees for a 2nd rounder won't have significant cap implications if the player doesn't work out.  But you give that fully guaranteed 3-4 year contract to a FA who then shits the bed in year 1 and never regains the form that got them the contract, then yes, it's going to screw up your cap management and won't be a rounding error. And you can say it's a big leap to go from guaranteeing a 2nd round pick's contract to a big FA signing, but it's really not.  Once teams start giving them out, it's only going to keep growing and be insisted upon by agents in other situations and once the ball starts rolling down the hill, it's going to be impossible to stop it's momentum. Also, the only reason a 2nd rounder's contract would be a rounding error, is explicitly because contracts aren't guaranteed and teams can finagle the cap hits with various tactics.  Once contracts become more and more guaranteed, that won't be as easy to do, if even possible at all, and those individual rounding errors become serious problems in totality.
    • Yep!  Jake wanted to stay. It’s been reported a lot that he did. Tulsky waited too long to give him that contract.
    • He's still unsigned, due to injury I think. He should be able to play this year, but I think teams are just waiting for more clarity before signing him.
