well they will compare these two for a LONG time, for a reason i will get to later, but athletically, Cam is faster, but it's not like Luck is a slow guy with no mobility, he can move and people are just saying, hey, see he can move to all the people who think that Luck's nothing more than a pocket passer. the thing is he doesnt run often.

anyways be ready for comparisons, Luck is highly likely to be picked first and Newton was picked first, so there's that, plus the fact that we could've had Luck last year will add fuel to the fire.

Here's the good news: what Luck is or isn't or how he compares to Cam really has no bearing. Cam is our guy, he was the BPA in the 2011 draft so we took him and he breathed life into this team. I have no doubt that Luck will be good, probably very good and that's okay... we have no reason to be insecure about our QB. I understand that at one time, Luck was going to be our guy, so people are afraid that he'll be better then Cam, but it turned our Cam is our guy so Luck's success (or lack thereof) has no relevance to us.

Cam isn't faster, they have the same speed. Cam is probably a better runner on the football field though.

Kind of like Troy Smith (from Ohio State) and Brady Quinn had virtually the same 40 time, shuttle time, and 3 cone time in their combine but Smith just has much better field vision.

i think he's a tad bit faster, mainly with his acceleration. on the football field, Luck usually doesnt want to run, he will run when he feels that he has to, Newton is the same, but i think Luck will run later than Newton would.

here's my take on this debate, players can have similar measurables like forty time, vertical jump and what not but it doesn't make them equal per se. both d-will & j stew ran 40's in the 4.4 range at the combine but most people can agree that d-will is more elusive & a bigger threat to break off td runs when he touches the ball. when luck runs he will be more of a threat to get first downs while cam is a threat to take it to the house

I stand to be corrected. Luck isn't faster than Cam. I had a feel the NFLN projecting his running numbers to be exactly like Cam's was way to coincedental. But Luck can jump an inch higher..So I guess he is better...

i think you misunderstood the point i was trying to make. although on paper luck & newton appear to have the same athletic ability, cam is by far the more explosive player of the two.

what hurt Newton last year was people said that the offense he was in was simple and scouts worried about his footwork. those arent issues with Luck and with RG3, his footwork is fine, honestly though when it comes to RG3, my only issue i have is his low throwing and there's no doubt there, it's low, but that's a small issue and it's an issue that doesnt need fixing.
