Dodger stadium opened in 1962 and is ancient compared to most modern stadiums these days.

The TV rights must be a tremendous cash cow.

Wiki says McCourt bought the Dodgers for;

"After his failed bid to buy the Red Sox he set his sights on the Dodgers. In 2004, McCourt bought the Los Angeles Dodgers for $430 million from NewsCorp, Rupert Murdoch's flagship enterprise.^[8] McCourt's purchase of the Dodgers was financed mostly by debt."

He should be shot rather than clear a billion plus in profit 8 years later.

You could argue the Dodgers have the best picher, Clayton Kershaw, and the best position player, Matt Kemp in all of baseball. They simply havent spent anything on players since the McCourt divorce started a couple years ago. The Dodgers (team) will be fine.

Going to be a monumental shift for that franchise, both in the happiness of the fanbase and the ability to attract free agents.

Also, they'll finally spend like they should.

Any FA looking at the Dodgers will know they're all about winning, with Magic there.
