Coples Vs. Derrick Harvey (08' Draft Bust)

I see what the OP is getting at as well, and I also understand the counter argument that you can find anyone comparable and label them a bust.

But anyone saying it's 'laughable' or foolish in some way to make comparisons has a stick up their ass.

It's done all the damn time in the NFL in scouting, acting like this is a completely invalid opinion is asinine.

Just for the record, what is it about Coples that you guys like? Where is your much more enlightened perspective on him as a prospect? Oh that's right, you know as much as any of us know. You just like to act like you know more when half of you idiots wanted nothing to do with Cam and wanted to trade 89 just a year ago.

I hate fugers who come into a thread a type out one bullshit line about how an OPs point is garbage. It's the same douchebags doing it every time too.

I mean it is laughable becasue fo revery comparison you want to make showing bust....I can make one showing success.

Is this a better Apples To Apples comparison?JAMAAL ANDERSON or yet another DE with the title..freakish athlete

Jamaal Anderson DE 6'5 288 Arkansas Jr. 4.75

By: Robert Davis

Anderson is a former wide receiver that made a smooth transition to defensive end. As a freshman reserve, he was in on 18 tackles. As a sophomore, he was in the rotation, and started the last five games of the year after an injury, and he has taken off from that point. He had 47 tackles, 10.5 for loss, and four sacks that season. Anderson blew up as a junior, finishing with 65 tackles, 19.5 for loss, and 13.5 sacks.

Jamaal Anderson is an absolute freak physically. Not only is he an excellent athlete, with great quickness and agility, but he has great size as well. He is a difference maker off the edge as a pass rusher. He dominated as a junior, and still has a ton of untapped potential. He could be an all around force at the next level.

Anderson is still adjusting to playing in the trenches, and is still a work in progress. He has been able to get by on his tremendous physical ability, but he will not be able to rely on that alone in the NFL. He declared after his junior year, only having about a season and a half of starting experience under his belt.

Anderson has the size and talent that will draw comparisons to Mario Williams and Julius Peppers, and he carries a great deal of upside at the next level. He had a solid showing in the post season, but probably not enough to overtake Gaines Adams as the top end in the draft. His upside is amazing, and he could make teams that do not select him regret it in the future.

Last paragraph is errie...and Coples has less stats...in the ACC.

*I do however think that Coples will be slightly better that Gaines Adams....for obvious reasons....

Jamarcus and Cam were never comparable btw.....

Vince Young sure as fug was

    • Also, the fact we are comparing this one to the 10 preseason tells me we are in for another horrible year.
    • Well, they're both in the same league (if you will). During preseason, Fitz went 3/3 & Sauls went 5/6, but of course Sauls was 4/4 last night (including one 50+). Both were Lou Groza Award finalists. I believe Fitz made two 55+ yarders last season, while Sauls led the nation with three. Fitz was 13/13 (💯) while Sauls was 21/24 (87.5). Fitz was a 3rd-Team AP All-American, while Sauls was a PFF All-American.  Career-wise, Fitz was 58/74 (78.4), while Sauls was 52/64 (81.3). I wish that I could see the attempts and knew the depth of yardage. I wish that we could compare practice kicks during their training camps, but we can't. Maybe someone with a PFF/CFF account can give that Basically it's just a matter of belief I guess. Seeing dude knock down four FGs and go perfect during a pressure-filled game for him is damned impressive if you ask me. I don't believe that Fitzgerald could do that.  That being said, I'd have to know more. I will say that it may be worth mentioning that we seem to like PFF this year and Sauls being a PFF All-American may be notable. Now that being said, the Panthers may not be even considering Sauls.
    • Ive said it 1000x times on here.  Our 2025 season will be dictated by the first 4 games.  poo the bed there and lose all confidence and momentum, we win 5 games maybe.  Go 2-2, 3-1 we got a look at 7/8 wins
