Oh, you mean bc you can name players drafted in rounds 4 - 6 it means teams focus on those rounds for the silly little OL.

Dude I've already been thru this but just for you.

Out of the top 20 Guards in the league 3 were 1st round picks 2 were 2nd round picks the rest were 3rd and beyond. There were actually more undrafted and 6th rounds picks then top 2 round picks.

Wait bell sucked but Fua and McClain showed promise? Were we watching the same team?

Who the hell said anything about fua and mcclain showing promise? They all three pretty much sucked. McClain the least of them, but bell and fua were imho terrible.

If you think Bell was any good you need to go back and watch some game film. Blown assignments, penalties, getting beat around the edge. He sucked ass actually.

Are you retarded? For a undrafted FA with no offseason Bell cam in and held his own.

Yeah proof you're retarded and have no idea how to assess a football game. You should just stick to watching the score idiot. Bell sucked ass.

Straight from PFF

9. Carolina Panthers (7th)

Run Rank 5th, Pass Rank 18th, Penalties Rank 19th

Outside of the problem right tackle spot, this is a line that does a particularly good job in opening holes for their backs. They also afford Cam Newton ample time when it comes to making plays. It’s not flashy, but it is effective.

Best Player: Over the past few years, Jordan Gross (+11.5) has worked within his limitations to become one of the most dependable left tackles in the league. Kudos.

Worst Player: In an ideal world Byron Bell (-26.2) wouldn’t have seen any action, but injuries to Geoff Schwartz and Jeff Otah (+1.6) robbed the Panthers of the two guys on the roster capable of playing RT. It’s not an ideal world and Bell was horrible in every phase of the game.

There were 3 OL drafted after this guy who are all proven better simply because they played against other players who are also being drafted.

It's too late to stop this bandwagon, but as an NFL prospect on the O-line, aren't you only as good as your competition? And if he's so damn good, why wasn't he playing for a quality football program? I'm sure there are a lot of guys who'd look good against the likes of Angelo State, Tarleton State, Incarnate Word and Missouri S&T... I don't even know what an "S&T" school is... Science and Technology?

He went to that school because of the rough life he was dealing with at the time and he openly admitted he struggles in school and is still trying to even get his degree. He was a JUCO guy that got his only chance to play Midwestern state, and he took the opportunity and run.

If you saw the article I posted about Amini Silatolu compared to another D2 superstar OG Larry Allen, you would understand the pick by now.

I'm sick of having to stand up for such a great pick, I just can't fuging wait to bump this thread every time he makes the pro bowl.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
