Perplexed About Alexander

Something is really off about Alexander. I just don't get how he could have been rated so low. Which is what scares me. On paper he appears at worst a 2nd round pick.

Good Frame: 6'4 270

Long Arms: 35inch

Good Motor

Athletic

Nice production: 8.5 sacks / 19 TFL / 3 FF / 1 INT / 8 pass deflections

Comparable stats to Nick Perry who went in the 1st.

Either we got a steal or really whiffed on this one.

Here is to hoping its the former!

Johnson came into the league at 270.

Not for a 4 - 3 DE. For a 3 - 4 DE yes.

270 is just right. 270 was bigger than Perry, Curry, and Jones if im not mistaken.

Coples is a freak and not the norm at 280ish.

Good to know. I was iffy on this pick to begin but, it is definitely growing on me. Second round playmaker DE in the fourth? fug Yeah!

To bad he didnt do the combine.

Would love to know how "quick" he is.

Its good to hear about the misdiagnosis and him not participating in the combine, helps explain why was being overlooked.

Although im not sure how you can be overlooked with his production last year at OU with that ideal size.

I think we got a steal... Until proven otherwise.

It is great he didn't do the combine, that way he fell to us.

Here are the proday results. Still not sure why he was projected here as a 7th rounder. I think it was because he really had only 1 great year which was his last one.

    • When we have everyone playing like they should, we can win the Cup. That has been the biggest problem when we get to the playoffs, but this year seems to be fixed mostly. We could have had multiple if we had done this in the past.
    • Here we go Bryce Stan’s you should love this. Hell it may be one of you.  It has every cliche excuse and then some.  Unintentionally hilarious my limit was reached when he said Bryce had it hard because four play callers.
    • Luke goes in to the specifics of what he looked to accomplish in joint practices.  Basically they may work with someone on the opposing team to stress something they feel is a weakness in their own game in a different way that can be done with someone they are familiar with. That they can have predetermined stresses but since neither wants to get injured and it has absolutely no bearing on anything there is not the level of concern that would be in a preseason game.  He would also even chat with opposing OC.   It seems like an interesting nuance among the vets and savy pros.
