The last thing you remember is standing before the wizard Lakmir as he gestured wildly, creating archaic patterns in the air and speaking something of a quest and the dreaded Warlock Lord. Now you find yourself in a dark wood with a secret entrance to a castle looming before you."

So begins the legend of Shadowgate - the granddaddy of all 'point and click' fantasy adventure games! This unique adventure paved the way for a host of adventure games to follow, sold millions of copies and has been ported to nearly 10 different platforms!

Zojoi, and the creators of Shadowgate, are proud to announce the development of Shadowgate: The 25th Anniversary Edition! While we love all of the versions of the game (especially the NES version!), this gorgeous game is not simply a port. Shadowgate has been updated with new rooms as well as familiar locations, many that have been redesigned to provide a new play experience while retaining the essence and fun of the original. Developed for iOS and Android devices (as well as PC and Mac), this game will redefine the first-person adventure game for the 21st century.

Shadowgate features:

  • Over 50 rooms of first-person, fantasy adventuring
  • Tons of new puzzles from the original creators
  • Beautifully painted, hi-resolution artwork
  • Compelling game play and storytelling
  • IOS and Android device support (PC and Mac as well!)
  • Two soundtrack modes (Cinematic and 8-bit retro)
  • Atmospheric and object-specific animations
  • In-game hint system

This was incredibly challenging when I was a child. It took me over a year to beat this. Albeit I didn't play it exclusively by any means. After all torch maintenance is only so interesting when you have goombas to stomp at six years old.
