Loved what Kirkman did. Did not see a time jump coming. Rick looks unrecognizable. As did Jesus.

Carl with the glasses though....ehhh. Not liking that look. Just makes him look funny. Definitely still the same angry kid, but the peace time has done him good it seems.


That ending though. I just feel like something happens....something big. All this peace can't last. Things are TOO good. Everytime this happens, we get 4 issues of mostly good poo happening, and then poo hits the fan and all that happiness gets replaced by chaos. Negan's story isn't over. Hopefully the next 9 issues sort of lead to his demise though. I gotta think the new group is going to bring it about too. Or at least have SOME role in it.

My only gripe is that I don't like the new character redesigns.

 

Rick basically looks like Douglass.

 

Carl looks like Skrillex.

 

Jesus no longer looks like Jesus Christ, which was part of his awesomeness.

I hate short-hair Rick. I'm used to long-hair Rick. That is Rick Grimes. Hopefully they let his normal appearance resurface. I can barely notice his facial features. Maybe it's just the facial hair and short hair, but he does look a LOT like Douglas.

I think they're trying to make Carl favor Lori more. But I still say it's just the glasses that make him look really different. Need to lose those.

I didn't realize that was Jesus when he first appeared until like, his 3rd panel. I get the time lapse makes characters change in appearance, but it just seems like too many drastic changes for some characters. Hopefully we get the more classic looks in the future.

What's it been since the outbreak? About 4 years now, factoring in the time lapse?

FWIW I liked the age-up thing for everyone but, TBQH, I kinda see it as a "I don't know how to keep things interesting without introducing another main bad guy" move for Kirkman...

 

I don't think it is a bad move... I just don't want it to be a desperate one...

I suggest downloading a CBR reader and reading the books that way. Comical is my personal favorite one.

 

 

 

 

This months issue was sort of lame. Nothing but set up happened. I expect that we aren't going to have anything big happen for a while anyways though since we're coming off All out War.

I am likening the revealed new vilian! Guys that wear the dead's skin like a mask. How gory and wicked is that??? I bet these people are all sorts of messed up! I can't wait until they reveal some of the details.

      Yep. It was an obvious red flag that a lot of people ignored. The results/scores in preseason don’t matter, but individual performance very much does and individually, we looked like the least talented team in the league and it carried over.

      Sorry, but in 2015, we didn’t look like poo to the extent of 2023. People who said it’s just preseason were completely wrong. Simple as that. 2015 was a veteran lead team. It was Cam’s 5th year and Luke’s 4th. Even our OL was 80% the same (added Oher) as the great run to finish 2014 with a playoff win. That year can be labeled as preseason doesn’t matter because I’m sure we rested vets and well, Ron/Mike weren’t putting in special plays, etc. I absolutely don’t recall a bunch of us saying that Turner was getting killed on one on ones or that Luke was completely out of position or that Norman was hurt again but probably fine. The only thing that was right about the 2023 preseason is that the minority of us who saw it, were correct that we A) should have been making Young and others play 100% of the reps as there was nothing to hide and B) the preseason means nothing was a bunch of BS trying to stay optimistic when it was obvious that we had way less good talent than the rest of the NFL.

      You are telling me Paul Maurice is a better coach than Rod??? Yes!!!  It’s because he plays a better system and has a better goalie.   Our system sucks in playoffs and he refuses to roll with Koochie. Dallas cowboys level poo
