Anthony Randolph

So the T'Wolves just renounced his rights. I hope we jump all over this. We need a PF and despite him being a stick figure, he's an athletic freak, he's still only 22 years old and he showed huge potential when he was with the Warriors a few years back.

According to Bonnell, the four guys we are looking at

from most likely to least likely to become a Bobcat

1. Antawn Jamison

2. Carl Landry

3. Kris Humphries

4. Luis Scola

You forgot "currently" and "that Bonnell knows of", since they "just" renounced his rights.

Randolph definitely looks like a "headcase" but I would vote: YES.

I forgot nothing since the Cats are CURRENTLY waiting to hear back from Jamison.

I didn't say Jamison wasn't at the top of their list. I was talking about the suggestion that those are the only 4 players that they would even consider "considering."

To be honest, I'd rather sign Jamison and wait it out for a year and take a guy like JMM before taking a guy like Randolph. I'm starting to get real skeptical about players with that small of a frame.

I don't see Randolph as having a "small frame". He's bigger than McAdoo. Taller and broader. Weight isn't everything, but he's not John Henson. I think he's a better fit for a pressing team than Jamison.

His weight has been an issue though, he can't throw his body around like a guy that McAdoo can.

Also, with the system that Dunlap has in place (college style) I believe that a Carolina big man, specifically James Michael McAdoo; would thrive in this system.

If they picked up Randolph, there's no guarantee that either him or Tyrus Thomas would still be on the team after this coming season. They could still pick McAdoo in 2013 if he comes out. Still don't want Jamison, and would rather have Scola, Humprhies, or the newly available Randolph than him. Hopefully Jamison decides to chase a ring this season. If he's smart, he'll go to Brooklyn.

    • The good news is that we are pretty uniquely well established to address all of our needs this season. We have $14m real cap space, and something like $40m in trade deadline cap space. Not sure exactly how that works out. But, we have the room to absorb any bad contracts. With recent rule changes regarding retention, that went into effect this season, we now have a huge advantage in the trade market.  On top of that, while we do have obvious needs, we also have a glut of talent in certain areas that we struggle to find ice time for. We are over-stocked on scrappy talented lil-guys, strong defensively sound 3rd liners and shutdown left shot dmen. Whether it's a package or separate deals, idk. But, one of each from Stank/Blake/Nads, Erob/Carrier/KK/Jank, and Walker/Nystrom; throw in some 1st round picks (and frankly any other prospects they want) and we should be able to come out with a 1b to pair with Bussi and either a 2c with size or a 2c and size.   TL/DR We got the money, you got the stuff?
    • I don’t  think 6’4 was ever considered small or undersized. Baby hands tho, yes that was his thing That’s an interesting idea, like an optical illusion? Sounds like you have personal experience with this!
    • in the 25' draft the Carolina Panthers had hired Brandt Tillis someone who actually understood how to build a successful team & build through the draft .  this team was yes mismanaged for years prior to Brandt Tillis joining the team in 25' & rarely done anything right in the draft outside occaionaly getting lucky on an UDFA such as Jalen Coker who's dad coincidentally happened to be a huge Carolina Panthers fan, hint hint  ...just saying
