DeJuan Blair?

DeJuan Blair's name has been thrown out their many times now. Rumors is that he'll be traded at some point this season. There is almost no chance of this kid being with the Spurs by the end of next season.

Blair is a good young Center/Power Forward that has falling off the Spurs depth chart. He averaged 8.5PPG and 6.4RPG in 20.2MPG in his first three years. Im not sure what and how much it'll cost to make a trade for this kid, but he would be a real nice piece to add to this young team toward the future. As much interests as we showed in trying to sign Carl Landry (Golden State), why are we not showing any interest in a kid like Blair. Well, I hope we do at some point.

His numbers are comparable to Landry and he's younger/cheaper. If we don't sign Malcolm Thomas, Blair should be our #1 priority. I certainly hope we've at least explored it, he'd be well worth 2 second rounders.

Blair had all-star potential. If the Patriots of the NBA let the guy go then there's obviously a red flag they're not telling anyone.

After various surgeries in high school, Blair was left without any anterior cruciate ligaments in his knees.^[4]

On June 25, 2009 Blair was drafted by the San Antonio Spurs in the second round with 37th overall pick. His stock fell because of questions surrounding his durability and knee surgeries. Blair signed with the Spurs within weeks of the draft on July 17.^[11]

It's not much of a secret. He's never averaged more than 21 minutes per game. He still seems to be a productive player though. Would be worth acquiring if the cost is right.
