He's better.

He knows the falcon's offense.

He got cut today.

If we got him and it helped us sweep the falcons, would it be well worth it?

Anyone who thinks the Panthers need another QB is a fool. "Fool" = someone who's thinking only goes as far as "we've always done that so let's do it."

The trend is moving towards only having two QBs on the roster. If they have any sense, they'll ditch Clausen and pick up a Corner that can actually play.

Do we even need 3QBs on the roster? If we cut Jimmy, I much rather see the roster spot go towards another position.

I agree. If both Cam and DA goes down, would grabbing a guy off the street really be worse than Jimmy? Let's keep someone who may actually contribute to the team.

      No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad

      I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.

      Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible.
