6/20 NFL.com analysts have Kuechly winning DPOY. The next closest has 2 votes.

3/20 have Rivera winning Coach of the Year. He's tied for first with Belichick.

3/20 would pick Cam before any NFL player if they were to start a franchise tomorrow. 10 have Rodgers, 7 chose Luck.

2/20 have Cam as the most explosive NFL player. Megatron has 12, Shady McCoy has 4.

4/20 say Cam will be the league's best offensive player 5 years from now. Only Andrew Luck has more votes.

One says Kuechly will be the NFL's best defensive player 5 years down the line. JPP is #1 with 7 votes.

4/20 say the Panthers will be the biggest surprise team of 2012. 6 put their bets on the Seahawks.

Just thought this was very interesting. Do you agree/disagree with any of these predictions.

Agree with most of it.

Luck gets a ton of praise for not having live bullets flying yet.

No doubt the kid is great, but come on man.

My big issue with the voting too. They want to crown Luck for a few good performances in the preseason. Playing well in the preseason barely deserves a pat on the back in my opionion.

Seriously, The Luck over Cam talk is such Bullshit.

It's a travesty that he still doesn't get the respect he went out and earned. And a kid who could be the next Ryan Leaf gets more respect without even playing a real down.

I honestly feel that the Media has already doomed his career. I've never heard of a College player getting this much hype in my entire life. It's been this way for going on 3 yrs.

I feel like he's going to be injury plagued or something... Just too much for too long. I feel like in the end he will be above like a Bradford. Not elite, not turrible

Yeah, I'm with you K-man. I realize that in all likelihood Luck will develop into a topnotch QB and offensive weapon. But you never really know until he plays for real. Granted, he will probably be everything people say he will. But the has-been and never-was roster is filled with guys who were supposed to be the next solid-gold-can't-miss rookie. Forgive me if I withhold my verdict until there's more pro-level evidence to go on.

I seriously don't get how more people have Luck ahead of Cam in so many categories. People forget so easily the season Cam had last season. Well I think he is going to be reminding people this season just how good he is.

That because Luck was already annointed the next HOF QB and just needed to play decent while Cam had to and still have to prove himself.

The hypocrisy of those in our media is stagging.

    • I agree, but I've already said that the players will definitely take more money up front because it's more security. But they want more guaranteed money and NFL FOs don't want to do that for several and various reasons, and that's what's at issue.  https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-second-round-rookies-finally-starting-to-sign-what-took-so-long-and-what-it-means-for-future-contracts/ It's a tug of war between teams and players, and, sure, paying a player a signing bonus may satisfy them, especially if--and sometimes "only if"--it ultimately leads to a guarantee of more of their contract, but the teams are on the hook for all of those guarantees when cap time comes, so if they guarantee more money, they're ultimately losing the contract game.
    • TBH, these are the kind of players that get weeded out of professional sports pretty quickly. Also, CMC is not that guy. There is zero indication that he isn't competitive.
    • I like the free agency. It actually helps basically all schools across the board. Pretty much only ancient HC's and/or HC's that haven't been able to adjust have been complaining about the free agency. Your fortunes can be made or broken every offseason. It's not like before where a bad recruiting class or two meant multiyear purgatory.  I will never understand all the bellyaching about the NIL. If you want to talk about what ruined college athletics, it has been naked greed. Conference expansions for TV revenue, ever skyrocketing AD and facilities costs and now the attempts to permanently ruin the postseasons(football and basketball).  All the kids did was get a very well deserved piece of a very, very, VERY broken pie.
