all depends on how you are ranking guys... because he has only been in the league I can understand putting him outside the top 10... but frankly I think there is maybe one or two other players you would want to long-term (as in, for the next half-decade plus) build your franchise around over Cam... I am so glad I was wrong about taking a QB.

They admit he should be higher and he needs to prove he deserves it. I bet they already have Andrew Luck higher without him having to prove anything. And how much more proving does he need to do. He set almost every record possible as a rookie. Sheesh

well if cam could do it then luck will shatter all of those records with ease.

      No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad

      I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.

      Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible.
