I hate playing not to lose

Not blaming Rivera, pretty much because every team does it, but do you ever wonder why with 5 minutes left in the game your Offense gets the ball and you change your game plan to run only, knowing that the Defense knows exactly what you are going to do. And then 3 plays later the Offense is giving up the ball AND most of the time, the game?

Teams are so afraid of an interception when they are leading at the end of a game that they would rather lose the game by going 3 and out.

That is the exact reason we lost. The Panthers got the ball 2 times in less than 5 minutes and they only got one first down, giving Atlanta every chance to come back and beat us. The reason why we only got one first down? ..because we did not throw the ball. So we lost an important game that could have given the team confidence and one game out of first in our division.

If I remember correctly, in our first game with the Bucs, when they needed a first down to run out the clock, they threw the ball. The bottom line is, we had that Falcons defense on the ropes. They knew we wanted to run the clock out, so they are pretty much on their heels ready to defend against the run. We could have easily completed a couple of slants or short passes, that would have given us a first down no questions asked. If there is one thing I can stand about a coaching staff, is a coaching staff that goes ultra-consersative in a close game. We need a new staff pronto.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
