Bob Johnson looking to sell majority share

the way he screwed the NBA with Larry Johnson's huge contract.

The league is just now recovering from that joke of a contract. You had a league of Jordan's, Barkleys, Ewings making 3-4 mill a year, and here comes George Shinn giving LJ after year 2 and 1 playoff appearance a 12 year 84 million dollar deal!!! LMAO! That contract messed up the pay scale in the NBA and helped lead to the lockout in 98 and the game's waning popularity in the early part of this decade.

People complained about Bickerstaff, but the Hornets first coach was Dick Harter, followed by Allan Bristow. The Hornets didn't have a real coach until Dave Cowens came along. He's still my all time favorite charlotte area professional coach.

"I'm as ready to coach as a cow waiting to be milked at high noon."

Too bad he was a headcase.

Or maybe Shinn was the headcase, and Cowens did the right thing and hit the road before the axe fell his way like it did with Paul Silas.

George was just another local good ole boy who was given the benefit of the doubt til he alienated himself. It really isnt surprising me how people are revising history and proclaiming him as the "nice sincere owner" now LOL. How does an owner who moved his team away care about the city? George embarassed this city with his stupid ass rape trial. When he didnt get his way with a new arena he said fug this city and moved out of state. Dude didnt even live here the last 2 years the Hornets were in town.

While I disagree with you on a lot of topics, you're dead on with this one.

You have absolutely no fuging clue what you're talking about. George wanted to be here and offered to pay for the majority of the new stadium and still rent it from the city to have them play there. The coliseum was out dated. Hints they blew it up and made a stadium for the Bobcats. But thats ok with you guys right? I mean we had to pay for it. George not living here? You're a joke. Quit making poo up King. He was here almost everyday buddy. I saw him every week so i know he was around. His wife had his Florida house. He just didn't go to the games. The rape thing was crap. He did not rape that girl. She wanted money. Just like the girl that said Tyson raped her and the girl that said Anthony Mason raped her. He cheated on his wife which was the embarrassment. Alonzo didn't want to be here so you guys bitching about that really doesn't matter. LJ was something that was going to happen anyway. Had he not done it you guys would be bitching about him not paying for his players. I love how you and porn run your mouth's without having a clue. Quit believing everything you read in people magazine and the local newspaper.

I would tell you the same thing. Looking to professional fluffers like Tom Sorenson for knowledge of the NBA is not a good look. Shinn sucked as an owner and its absolutely a joke that some are pushing for him to come back here after the mess he made before he left. Anybody who props up Shinn and calls Bob Johnson the "worst owner in sports" because he plays rap music at his games and has black people in his executive ranks does not have a priority of winning. They have a priority of politics and a fragile ass ego. I cant think of any other sports situation where a year into it people are calling for the owner to sell the team he founded and continue to do so. Knicks fans dont even bitch about their front office this much and they clearly have the WORST in the league.

Who are you a former Honeybee? LOL. You saw him every week? What does that prove. It is common knowledge and a FACT that George Shinn's main residence was in Florida the last 2 seasons the Hornets were here. Which makes it even funnier because "the owner not living amongst us" is one of the main knocks on Bob Johnson. HYPOCRISY HYPOCRISY HYPOCRSIY.

What is with black and white with you? I could care less the race of the owner, player, leader, QB, etc......As long as they get the job done I'm happy. Where in my post did i say anything about Tom or race? I felt this way about Shinn and Bob way before Tom wrote a article. You talk poo about Shinn "not living here for the last 2 years", but when has Bob ever lived here? He has been to what? 5? 10? 15 games? He named the fuging team after himself and he doesn't even go. He is a poo owner and you're only defending him because he is black. It's sad that all your arguments have to do with race.

That is total bullshit. You dont know anything. Fact is his wife owned the Florida residence and the times he wasn't in Charlotte he was at his Myrtle beach house. So he was still a lot closer then Bob. Yes i was a honey bee Mrs. Johnson. You laugh at your own jokes. That is hilarious.

Ah, yes, the revisionists. Never mind the Alonzo Mourning fiasco, the dismantling of successful teams, the rape trial, the way he screwed the NBA with Larry Johnson's huge contract. The Hornets were a revolving door for players, Anthony Mason, Eddie Jones, LJ, Zo, Glen Rice, etc etc.

Hell, I bet most people that are riding Shinn's nuts don't even remember Hershey Hawkins, Kenny Gattison, etc.

They just remember Muggsy.

No, Shinn tried to hold Charlotte hostage, and nobody even went to the last playoff series.

What a joke.

What did those players do after they left? Nothing. Zo did something but he was young when he left. They all had injury problems, were at the end of their careers and were average. Bass was a beast at figuring out talent.

Zo did want to be here, Shinn didn't want to pay him. LJ happened alright, to the tune of 84 million. And Shin was in town, but he didn't go to the game? That's still an absentee owner.

Did LJ's contract ruin the NBA or not? Do you know what you're talking about?

Divac went on to support a powerhouse Sacramento team. We were lucky to ditch LJ's contract and get the poor man's version in Anthony Mason. Glen Rice won a title with the Lakers after he left. Eddie Jones had his best season in Miami after we traded him for Jamal Mashburn. What a beastly job Bass did there. Anthony Mason had an all star appearance after he was traded with Jones for Mashburn. That's two starters for Washedupburn and PJ Brown.

I could go on an on, but its pretty apparent who doesn't know what they're talking about here.

Take those teal colored glasses off.

The Hornets get worse every year, they won't make the playoffs next year.

The Bobcats would kill for 49 wins and a playoff appearance. Not to mention the Hornets have one of thee NBA's biggest stars locked into a max deal.

In five seasons in New Orleans, the Hornets have made the playoffs four times while the Bobcats have no appearances.
