Panthersguru14's 2013 Mock Draft

Posting this for "Panthersguru14"

i think that this draft could be great if we make a few key moves.

1. we get a top 2 draft pick and trade down for at least an extra 2nd round this year.

2. we trade Jon beason for a 3rd round pick. this eliminates the cap problem and we ultimately have our future middle linebacker in luke.

3. trade deangelo for a 3rd round pick. this also eliminates his cap hit and once again we have a stud running back in Jonathan Stewart, so deangelo may be just part of trimming the fat.

4. trade steve smith to a team looking for a team looking for a #2 WR to compliment their #1 ex: arizona or detroit. once again it clears up cap space and makes us draft our future #1 reciever.

assuming all of this come to fruition then we have a top ten 1st round, 2 2nd rounders, and 3 3rd rounders, and enough cap space to mingle in free agency.

therefor i would like the following players by the time the 2013 season starts:

1st round: jarvis Jones: i saw this posted in maines mock and really liked the idea of having a versatile guy who has more talent than any DE we have on roster.

2nd round: tj mcdonald: we all know how we have strugled at safety the past couple of years so this pick would not only be BPA it would be a need as well.

2nd round: Cordarrelle Patterson: i think this guy has ability through the roof and could be described as a poor mans julio and as well as julio is doing i would take a poor mans julio anyday. this would obviously be one of the replacements for steve smith.

3rd round: Oday Aboushi: a left tackle that could eventually be gross' replacement and even if he isnt talented enough to replace gross at least it will allow byron bell to be moved to guard again.

3rd round:marquess wilson:i think this guy has a lot of potential and assuming we trade beason then why not try to get a couple of big speedy recievers to take his place.

3rd round: desmond trufant: this guy is the perfect size for an nfl corner and as i only saw him play once i really liked what i saw. we need young corners and if his stock doesnt rise to much we may be able to get him in the third round and get a steal, plus with gamble recent injury who knows how long he will be on the roster.

4th round: C.J. Fiedorowicz: although i cant pronounce it we need another solid tight end across from greg olsen. cam was best last year when he had two safety blankets. Even tom brady has to security blankents so why not give cam another one.

5th round:Devin Taylor: this guy plays across from one of the most elite pass rushers in college football but being an SEC guy he has a relentless motor and i personally think the new coach may get rid of hardy or trade him because of his lack of production. plus you can never have enough good pas rushers.

7th round: Anthony Rashad White: now i know i said DT has the highest bust potential in the draft, but why not take a fly on someone in the 6th round in my opinion this guy is a big DT from a historically winning program and would not be a bad idea to give him a shot.

Prior to the draft i would like the new GM to go for a DT in free agency with all of the money that was freed up by trading the three players from the beginning.

this would be the perfect situation to me let me know what you think.

No to Jarvis Jones unless our new DC changes us to a 3-4. Jones is like 245 at most...he's not a DE.

I'd begrudgingly be ok with trading Deangelo, and even more begrudgingly be ok with trading Beason, but not Smitty. We have players that can step in for Deangelo and Beason and not have too much of a fall off. Not the case with Smitty, and I don't want some 2nd or 3rd round WR rookie being forced to shoulder the load of a #1 receiver right off the bat.

That being said, I don't think we'd get a 3rd for Deangelo. Maybe a 5th, or at best a 4th. Whatever Houston got for Demeco Ryans, we should get 1 round higher for Beason.

Just looked it up, they got a 4th. We should get a 3rd for Beason.
