Amazing Talents at the WR Postition in 2013

So we're just planning on sucking next year, because I guarantee Lee will be gone before pick five....

You can't have everything in one draft. When was the last time we filled all our needs in one single draft. You take your biggest needs in the draft (FS/DT) and try to develop them and fill the rest through FA.

WR would be an amazing addition but maybe one or two out of a draft will come in and make instant impact. Only AJ green made impact in 2011. Julio did well but not great like Green. Blackmon, Hill, and Jeffery aren't doing anything this year. Do you really think a rookie receiver is going to solve our whole offense next year? There's no AJ green in this next draft.

you also have to take into account of who Blackmon's QB is. i think this class has some potential #1 guys in it.

Gabbert has played a lot better than last year. You can't really tell that he was the same QB last year. He improved.

I was one of Blackmon biggest fan going into the draft and he's clearly taking a longer time to develop than I thought. But maybe not having MJD and other weapon on the offense played a role to why he's Lookin a lot like a rookie.

Maybe we should trade back and get one of these "Amazing talents" at the WR position in mid 1st.

Sure, why would you trade back and take one of them. You can't argue that theyre not talented. They'll be really good receivers but it's a process of work and development.

"amazing talents", funny bro

What does this have to do with my hope/expectation that we won't be picking in the top five in the 2014 draft??

I know, I was just messing around. I do wish we would have the comfort of knowing who will be our #1 WR when Steve retires.

All these receivers have great talents but I don't see any of them being a top10 except for maybe Allen. The rest should be around no.15- mid 2nd.

So you tell me you don't want one of these "amazing talents".

Bc to me this:

Sounds like you're saying we'll be bad next year without a "rookie" WR if we choose to take say Star and a FS in the 2nd. I'm just saying that Star and say a Robert Lest, even without a receiver in the draft that we could be better next year than this year.

I'm sorry you misunderstood, my point was that no matter the position we draft this upcoming draft I really expect us to be better then a team who's picking in the top five of the 2014 draft. If we're not picking in the top 5-7 in 2014 we won't be getting Lee or Watkins....

But how are we going to get a #1 talent WR in next year's draft assuming we have more wins next year than we will this year? I would hate to have to trade up like the Falcons did for Julio. This year might be the last year we have a top 10 pick for awhile (hopefully) and our last best chance to score the best WR in a draft class.

I see.

OKay, well I wasnt just saying we're aiming for Lee or Watkins in 2012. You gotta know theyre not the only two receivers that might come out in 2014. Remember this time last year, everyone were talking Hunter and Woods only. Well now theres Twill, Patterson, Da'rick, Austin and etc. names all in consideration now.

And you never know whos staying or coming out in 2013. Hearing that maybe Woods and Patterson may stay. If they stay, add their names to 2014.

Not all receivers go in the top 10.

For example,

2012: Kendall Wright #20, AJ Jenkins #30, Stephen Hill #43, Alshon Jefferey #45

2011, Jon Baldwin # 26, Titus Young #44, Torrey Smith #58, Greg Little #59, Randall Cobb #64

2010: Demaryius Thomas #22, Dez Bryant #24

2009: Jeremy Maclin #19, Percy Harvin # 22, Hakeem Nicks #29, Kenny Britt #30

2008: Desean Jackson #49
